I tried the Brinkley and it was a PITA. I ended up buying a King Kutter. It was about $500 or so, but that was a couple of years ago and no telling how many acres Ive spread in seed and fertilizer. Probably @ 40 ac a year and no problems yet. I think it holds @ 250 or 300 pounds of fertilizer.

I bought mine last year and love it. I pull it with my wife’s Gator. I paid somewhere in the low 600’s for it and thought I got a good deal. Not sure of the brand but I will mossey out to the barn sometime today and let you know.

Whatever you get, I believe I'd get one with a poly hopper. My old Lowry 3point is gonna need some TLC in the Spring. I wash it down after every use and then pour diesel of used motor oil on it and it still gets eaten on by fertilizer. Spinner vanes and very bottom of the hopper are getting bad.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

No sure if the make a pull behind but I found a Frontier pto spreader with the polymer hopper and stainless steel spinner and vanes. I still clean it well after use and keeps all scratches painted on the frame. So far no rust issues. I would look into that.

Works like a champ and shows no signs of wear after three years or so. The original ones were almost completely rusted off. That spreader had been good to me for going on 15 years I guess. I just don’t like how the wheel hubs are made, have to mess with that every couple of years as the rubber grommets are long gone. Just use a piece of pvc pipe for spacers now.

I'm considering selling mine. It's the 300lb spreader, has a wide stance. Basically the same spreader as the 3 point hitch type, but with wheels and gearbox. if interested, ill get some pics

If you can find a tuffline, get it. A buddy had one that is close to 15 years old when it finally gave out. He bought another one just like it. I’ve had 2 coop specials and they have yet to make it thru a fall planting season without breaking

The Abby mfg unit is solid as a rock. Had mine 7 years now. Poly hopper with stainless gear wide stance and float tires. My place is hilly and I’ve never come close to turning it over.

I got a "Power Line 300" from Darrell Harp Enterprises in Red Bay, AL, and the dang gear box gave out. I bought it last year. It's a $700 spreader, and it crapped out. I couldn't believe it. Dang that sux. Did have some type of warranty?

Dang that sux. Did have some type of warranty? It does not appear so. I ripped the thing apart to get the gearbox off. I'm paying for a new gear box, which is much cheaper than a whole new spreader. Rest of the spreader is still in great shape, obviously.

They type I had come with a 12 month warranty on frame and gearbox. I broke every shaft/axle on it over the first 2 years I owned it, it was a gearbox last year. $300 worth. This past Saturday it lasted all day putting out just fertilizer. I bragged to 2 people how it finally made it thru a planting day. A ratchet strap broke on the way home and it’s now scrap metal.

Know where any are in dealer stock? Their phone number doesn't work (fax line picks up though) and they don't show the spreader on their website anymore.

Mine is a Power Line 300. I only plant one two acre field and this is the second year to use this spreader. It has worked great and I don’t miss the three point hitch pto spreader I used for years.

I have found that using a cheaper spreader that inserts in the hitch of my truck is much easier. You can have all the seed or fertilizer in your bed

Both my 3pt hitch models work great behind a small tractor. My cab tractor keeps me from being able to reach the lever.
After I use it I wash them well with a pressure washer, then spray an entire can of WD40 on them and keep it in the back of the barn. The older one is probably 18 years old and other than missing some paint it has no damage. Mine is a metal hopper with steel spinner. I use one for seed and the older one for fertilizer. I do about 20 acres in spring and about 40 in fall with them.
Keep them washed clean and stored out of the weather and they will last a long time. I probably spend 30 minutes washing them after using them, not just a quick rinse.
I love my country, but don't trust my government.

Your local co-op should be able to get you one from Tufline. I can order a Tufline but dealer cost on one of those with the poly hopper is over $1300. Plus freight
