I know it's done, I'm pretty sure I've even seen posts about bhamfred doing it back in the day? (maybe I'm wrong on that..)

What flies do you use for this? The Cahaba runs behind the house and I go back there and fly fish once or twice a week. I catch plenty of bass and bream, and even hooked a gar last night. There are some huge carp back there from time to time. Not my usual target species, but figured it would be fun and maybe a new challenge.

Anyway, you guys have any tips?

I've caught a bunch of carp on a fly rod, they fight like all hail too. Very strong.

Just about any small dark slow sinking fly will catch em, a wooly booger is my favorite.

I have chummed them up with canned corn and thrown a small yellow chenille wrapped fly to em.

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

I'll try it out again. I've been throwing a dark green wooly bugger at em', but I don't really have a huge fly selection. I like the corn chum idea

I finally got one on a wooly bugger but it took the line straight under a log and broke off. Was fun for the two seconds...

We used to have a pond that we would feed the carp/catfish then pull a muddler minnow fly through. Ton of fun.
