Do the 40% peroxide thing then after its all dry paint it with elmers glue. It goes on white but dries to a nice clear coat ,plus it seals it real good

Hog skull is a whole different deal than a deer as far as cleaning it. Lots of small stuff that's hard to get out.

You need to send it to Cuz Pat and spend the time doing something else. Did a great job on mine. If you really want to do it yourself, I'd consult him for advice.

I agree. I've done a few skulls of hogs. They really need beetles at the end. I think Patton has beetles. Depending on the weight, you can ship it frozen priority mail express next day in a sealed bag and box for around $40. PM me and I can tell you the price to ship it. There's also a company in Oklahoma that does nothing but skull mounts. You ship it to them and they ship it back finished. Been thinking about doing that here. They have no competition.

Also, do whatever you can to keep the antlers out of the boiling water so it doesnt remove the natural color of them. Others may have some tricks on keeping this from happening..

Beetles or sitting in a cooler of warm water for about a week for hogs skulls...lots of degreasing.

I use a self fusing silicon/rubber tape to wrap around the bases. That has worked well for me. If the color is ever removed, I found wood stain can bring them back to a natural color.
