I was a sophomore in HS and was sitting in Mr. Werking's history class when we heard about it. We turned on the t.v. and watched as the second plane hit. Sad day in history for sure.

Jp tech truck driving school

Ft wainwright Alaska. My infantry rifle company went on guard duty on post that night. Few days later we were putting concertina wire and pickets up around the barracks and company CPs. Caught hell pulling the pickets in late winter. The ground sets up pretty hard at -50!!

9th grade biology class

In Saraland with my GF (now wife) staying at her friends house. We had been out all night but for some reason i woke up and turned on the tv just in time as the second plane hit. Heck i thought it was real at first......

I was in my office in Decatur working for Scientific Atlanta managing the construction side of the digital upgrade of everything Charter Communications in north Alabama. Couldn't believe what I was seeing on the TV. Saw the 2nd plane hit. We had a major cutover scheduled for the wee hours of one night that week and ALL communications companies were ordered to maintain service status quo with absolutely no service interruptions. The crews kept building plant but I don't think I left the office the rest of the week. Just watched the TV.

Sitting in my living room getting ready to go to work watching the news.

At work.....was listening to the radio on the wall mounted speakers in the hallway. When it happened I watched all the news I could. Now.....I never want to see those pictures/videos again. To this day I have a cold anger about it......I wanted to go kill all the phuckers responsible.

I was a young rookie cop with Mobile police department and was at court that morning, while on shift. After the initial attacks, I was sent to the control tower at Brookley Field to sit and wait..

Was about to walk out the door to go to the office when the first plane hit. My oldest was 2 and was all excited about going to the zoo. I watched what I could but had a trial that morning. Trial didn’t happen. Lawyers and Judge and most of the courthouse staff watched the first tower fall in chambers. The world changed forever. It was a horrible day. I was convinced this was the beginning of a constant pattern of terrorism disrupting our lives. It didn’t happen thanks to our leaders and military. We are all indebted.

Coming home from a good teal hunt. Tried to open studio but closed up and was glued to theTV of rate next few days.

I was a freshman at Snead St, had a buddy come in late to class and he was stoned outta his mind, said he was late because he was watching airplanes fly into buildings. I thought nothing of it and he was just being stupid and paid no attention to him. As soon as class was over I went to the student Union building and I remember walking into an otherwise noisey area and it was dead quite and everyone was watching the big TV. A few kids were crying and I was in disbelief, remember going to my off campus apartment and my roommate had all his guns and ammo out ready for whatever the heck might happen. We watched the news the rest of the day

I was at work. Worked for ITC Deltacom at the time.

I had just gotten 3 of 4 engines started on the Herc and Maxwell command post called on the radio and said you need to shut down and come back inside. We were on our way to England for a big air show called Air Tattoo. By the way, our hosting British counterparts had arranged a tee time for my crew and I to play golf at the old course in St. Andrews while we were there. Dang Islamic terrorist robed me of an opportunity of a lifetime in addition to attacking our country. Now I really hate them!

The first plane had hit before I walked out the door headed to work in Livingston. By the time I got to work 5 min down the road the second plane had hit. We watched it the rest of the day in the tv at the local beauty shop that was behind our office.

I was with the B,ham police dept. outside the airport with orders to shoot down any plane in the air and any vehicle which drove into airport( past the check point).

I was working on base as a contractor by then. We watched the whole thing unfold and it took forever to verify the location of our co-workers who were TDY to the Pentagon that week. Access to base changed from that day forth and for months access to base was slow and limited. On an odd note, I met my now ex-wife that day.

Running a piping job a the GP plant in cedar springs. My wife was a financial advisor with Merrill lynch. She paged me up dates. We had a radio in the tool room.
