My 8yr old has a short attention span and an itchy trigger finger. He can keep an 8” plate swinging all day at 300yds with a 22lr. Thats very impressive with a 22

Where are the closest public land prairie dogs? Would consider an inexpensive lodge with diy hunts but don’t want to sit next to an outfitter. Within driving distance? I'd be surprised if their is any. Flying distance, sure. If you're flying I'd just go to the best place. I'm sure you can have a guide service let you do it yourself. Probably at a cheaper rate too. I've seen other game done that way.

There is 2 different high fence. 1 small and one big! Mine was free range in the big pen and was not a breeder buck. Why does it have to be twisted around??

Shot em in North Texas after I had got my buck, years ago.
Pretty damn fun. Other than is was 9 degrees with a 30 mph wind. Friggin cold!
Shot most of my few from the passenger side of the truck. In the heat.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.
My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

Not much distant small game hunting close. I'll bet he'd have more fun at the range. I'd recommend shooting crows and coyotes w/i a few hours drive with the .22. And maybe step him up to a 22-250 once as his skills increase.

My 8yr old has a short attention span and an itchy trigger finger. He can keep an 8” plate swinging all day at 300yds with a 22lr. I doubt I could hit a grown man in three shots at 300yds with my 22lr. Now my 223 on the other hand you would not want to play tag with me at that distance. That is very impressive with a 22lr.
