Has shut our entire harvest down till tomorrow. Apparently on our 9760 combine, there is a small electrical connector on the alternator that reads the voltage to all the electrical contollers for the unloading auger and the separator/header. This small connection is not letting enough voltage pass and the it shuts down the combine. Our combine is one of the only models that have this on it. Of coarse there is only one of these parts in the country and it’s in Dallas and won’t be here till in the morning. Unbelievable!!!

Seen it 1000 times. Basically a 10 dollar part shuts down a million dollar operation. But look at it this way at least it isn’t a hydro or motor. Could always be worse. And maybe you’re meant to do something else today for a reason. The more we have breakdowns or stops I kinda look at like there’s a reason for it beyond our control. The fact y’all will have it tomorrow is pretty good tho. Most Deere dealers are like oh well maybe Monday or Tuesday

I guess you couldn't clean it? Tried contact cleaner?

Well crap, sounds like zip ties, JB weld, duct tape, or self taping screws aren't the solution here. Got to bang it just right then cuss it real good.... That's my go to....

Ever wondered how many times car trouble has saved someone's life?

Marsh I suggest you get a spare to prevent this from happening again. I've found that the problem with this line of thinking is there are 50 different parts like this on every new machine.
