We got our hands on a head of cabbage from a friend's garden. Last night I cut it into 4 wedges and removed the core. I made some pouches with foil and put it each wedge in one and gave it a good dose of squirt butter, kosher salt, pepper, some onion flakes on it (didn't have a real onion) and then threw in a hand full of little smokies. I sealed the pouches up and put them on the grill until they were soft, but still had a little bite to them. They turned out really well. I think next time I may lay a couple strips of bacon over wedge. Sorry I didn't get any pics. I was on the Natties and hungry as hell when they finished. LOL.

What do y'all do with the cabbage core? I like to eat it while the cabbage is cooking or later. It can be naturally spicy and I love it.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

I usually chunk it. I'll have to try it next time we cook cabbage.

We (wife and I) usually core the cabbage from the top and fill the hole with real butter. Wrap the cabbage whole with aluminum foil and throw it on the grill. While that's cooking marinate whatever the meat of the day is and then try to start grilling it so that they are done about the same time. I like cabbage fairly well done and my steak about med-rare to medium so the cabbage will cook a good while before the steak hits the grill.
