Read the history of hemp in America. I found it interesting that sails were made from hemp for years.

did your buddy happen to mention where we can get some of this "high grade" stuff

The 90% stuff he is talking about is probably marijuana oil or resin used for smoking in a vape pen and not CBD oil that you ingest. It also will not fry your brain. It is no different than smoking regular old weed.

Not addictive simply means your body won't have withdrawal symptoms when you don't get it. People like it though. Think of it like sex,you really like it,want it but won't go into DT's without it.

this and the "fry your brain" statement always makes me think of dad saying "he'd done burned his brain on that dope"....it's all dope to him, from krakum/meth/heroin all the way down to the weakest of the weed.
sounds like the "this is your brain" commercials actually worked on some...

The coke was taken out of coca cola well before you were born.

And Opium was legal too. Go figure. That don't mean it was a good thing though.

Too true but in reality everyone picks their poison. Did that same dad use tobacco and alcohol? Social norms change is all,the drugs remain the same.

So, I did what any young, Alabama redneck would and picked me a bunch of buds off the 'ditch weed' as the locals called it. I dried it and it smelled awesome. Rolled some up and smoked it and got the worst headache I believe I ever had. Just like the locals said, it wasn't worth a tinker's damn.

Around 1973 or so I knew a fellow that was mentioning the abundance of the wild weed growing along side of the roads up there. We were in the Navy at the time and he took 2 weeks leave to go harvest some. After a month or so I got to missing him around the shop and asked about him. I was told he was pulled over with a trunk load of it and was probably in Leavenworth by now. I don't know for sure but he never came back grin

Ditch Weed grows wild throughout much of the Midwest. This wild hemp was grown legally as a commercial crop for its fiber content. More than 50 years ago this plant was grown for the fiber, it was used to make rope for use during WWII. The government spends tax-payers money to eradicate the wild remnants of this plant, even though most of it is never harvested or presents any threat to public safety. In 2003, 4.5 million plants were destroyed in Missouri alone. Wild populations of this plant contain less that 0.1% of THC grin

It takes a long time to grow an old friend.

This is Midwest ditch weed. 12 feet of it. It grew on a farm I used to lease in Illinois. My buddy verified that it will not get you high. Farmer said it had been growing there since he bought the place.

Yes,it produces paper at a much higher volume per acre than pulp wood and it also produces fibers mush better than cotton for clothing. We don't utilize it because big pharma must keep the stigma associated with it going,to keep from loosing market share.
