I have two older Hummingbird 500 series on my boat. I think it's time for an upgrade. I don't want to spend 2 to 3 thousand each . What is a decent unit for around $500. All I want is something reliable.
It's not how much money you make, but how much you can keep.

I just got one of these: https://www.lowrance.com/lowrance/type/fishfinders-chartplotters/hook2-7-tripleshot-us-inlandIt is really nice. You can spot fish easy on the normal sonar and the two side looking and downlooking rigs. And the map feature is great in low, late, early light or dark, Or in fog. I hit some pea soup fog and if not for the mapping I would have gotten very disorientated. It uses Navionics cards and coms loaded for 3000 lakes. it also has a $100 rebate right now. I can see fish easy to locate schools of stripers using the three fish finding mode ver easily and knw exactly whereto present my bait. 257wthrby will tell you when we went..youd see the fish coming for your bait like on wicked tuna. It was cool as heck.
