This is what im talking about. So your wife goes to work every day, you say "good bye honey", and dont give it a second thought. Now your wife dies, you are both saved people so you know youll see her again one day, but you plan on living quite a while longer so you will miss her terribly all that time. Without time both of those situations are the same. Now, as far as our people missing us when were gone, thats gona happen whether we die today or 20yrs from now, the amount of time is the only difference. I believe if we tried to see time as God must see it, death wouldnt hurt us so bad.

The sting of death is real. Jesus wept when he got the news that Lazarus had died even though he knew he was going to raise him from the dead.

I believe there are many things we will never have answers to until we leave this life. I have watched many friends search for the answers. Some find peace in their search - others, not so much. The first question I have for Jesus will be “why must small children suffer”? I have proven capable of committing unspeakable violence toward adversaries in my past yet I can’t walk into a children’s ward of a hospital without emotional difficulty. The question I have for unbelievers is “if you don’t believe in God, what is the basis for your hope in this life, or beyond”?
I’m not saying anyone shouldn’t search for answers. In my experience it is sometimes best to just believe and take the next step forward. And the next......

I wish I could remember the particulars , but it was years ago that our preacher gave a sermon on the fallacy of the statement that God does not give us more than we can handle.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I don't think Jesus was ever forced to do anything. He was fully God and capable of doing anything or nothing.

Think Job... think Gideon... think Moses... numerous others who were overwhelmed apart from God's provision.

Forced may have been the wrong word but you get the point

We humans get all twisted up about death because we have a very poor understanding of time and an even poorer understanding of a place without time. Take time out of the equasion and suddenly death is not such a big deal.

Maybe not to those facing death who have assurance of Salvation in Christ Jesus, but for those we leave behind, particularly when it is sudden, it can be quite a big deal.
The sudden loss of a spouse, son, daughter, etc. can be a very traumatic, and lonely experience, even when we know our beloved are in a better place.

God Bless,
David B.

Death should be a happy situation if you truly believe. If a person won the powerball, most family would be happy as shucks. Meeting our maker that everyone says they live for?...........gloom??? Really?

Yes, gloom for the selfish side of me, in missing my best friend, partner, and wife i'f she were to die suddenly. I'd be happy to know she is with our Saviour, but the selfish side of me is going to grieve and be gloomy at times without her in my life here on this earth.

I'd be the same way with my daughter and close friends.

Just an honest statement and realization of me knowing the selfish side of me, and the complete loss I'd experience without them in my life.

God Bless,
David B.

I agree.

I dont think God PUTS anything on us at all. Good or bad. Crap happens for no reason. Its how we deal with it. Do we keep our faith and push through it or do we say screw it and let the devil get pride.

Same as kids born with disorders. God didnt do that. Crap just happens. So you turn to God to be in his kingdom so u wont have those bad experiences again. God didnt do anything. He is there to watch and listen. You might pray and get help but God didnt put cancer or whatever on you.

A few years ago when my oldest son died at only 30 years old from liver failure, I had to go to that hospital everyday and watch him die and there wasn't a damn thing I could do about it. It was bad. Did I lean on God for understanding? Yes I did. However I had no choice in the matter as to whether or not I had to endure it. I just did what needed to be done.

We as humans are put here to love other people and to endure both the good and the bad of life. We have free will and choices to make in how we live our lives and treat other people, but sometimes we are placed in situations that for all practical purposes are beyond our control and how we deal with those situations defines our character.

You nailed it sir. This is a test of character that gets us into heaven. God doesnt put anything on us in my mind. If all this was only God then there would be no need for heaven cause this woud be heaven. I dont think God made those kids then put a disease in them. Or made kids blind or any of that. It just happens. Its not for me to question. All i can do is have my faith and stand by God and hope i enter his kingdom. It is what it is. No one knows exactly. You cant read too deep cause we just dont know. All i do know is that God is always around to listen to take notes. You know in your heart whats righteous. Thats the holy spirit in us from birth. Do good things, and pray for the best. Thats all we know to do. Our day is coming. Live it like its your last day. I been to the gates. Its not a fairy tale. Its as real as the day is bright.

we take this world too seriously, when those that accepted Jesus are in eternity the only two things from earth that will matter is, did they accept Jesus, and how many others did they lead to Jesus. All the hardships and bad times weve had on earth will seem like 1 second when your in eternity. But still there are many times God watches over us and many times he doesn't intervene. at least 11 of the 12 deciples had a documented voilent death, two of them were arguing over who would sit at Jesus's right hand when he told them "are you sure you want to drink of the cup iam going to drink". anyhow hardships on earth may mean something totally opposite in heaven.

Always felt like it was a catch 22 to give God credit. Half the time it was good, but half the time it was bad. Kinda threw some doubt in God was in control of all things, IMO. Pretty strong argument to this day IMO.

Thats a very sad situation Beadlescomb & I wish I had the answers but I don't. I would like to encourage you to talk to real preacher with a real calling to spread the word of God & he could possibly help you understand. I would hate to see anyone give up their eternal salvation simply because they don't understand what happens on this earth.

I learned in 2009 that God is in the business of glorifying Himself. That ultimately brings people to Him and saves them from much much worse than anything this world can throw at them. In 2009 I had a very close friend that had a son that died from cancer at 9 years old. He had had cancer in some form for most of his life. Actually he had 3 different kinds over his short life. If you went to see Tucker he was an inspiration even when the cancer was at its worst. He had given his life to the Lord and was being used in ways that I don't think anyone quite knew. His funeral was at the Hoover High School gymnasium and there was standing room only. Tuckers dad asked the pastor to present the gospel and give an invitation during his funeral. There were dozens of college football players that now play in the NFL, coaches, baseball players, CEOs, and regular folks. I would be lying if I tried to say how many people raised their hand when the pastor asked if anyone would acknowledge that they had accepted Christ after the service. And to this day if you tell Tucker's dad that you are sorry for his loss, the first thing he will tell you is that Tucker isn't lost because he knows exactly where he is, and the 2nd thing he will tell you is that Tucker was put here to serve God's purpose and when his job was done God called Tucker home. Do we always understand absolutely not, but God always has a plan for us.
