Has anyone ever tried the traps you can buy or the DIY coke bottle type that you see on the web? Just wondering if any of them work and what you use as bait. Looks like there are lots of people who use different baits.

I have a couple of storage sheds that you can't go into. I would like to clean them out.

I have tried the diy coke bottle with no luck. Bought a wasp trap at WM, only caught a few yellow jackets. Already sick of these bastages.

YouTube had one where a guy stapled raw chicken underneath a board. He placed the board (chicken side down) on top a plastic storage container that was filled with soapy water. As the wasp removes removes a piece of chicken, it always drops down before flying off. The drop down part forced the wasp to make contact with the soapy water making it unable to fly. Never tried it, but he did catch a bunch of them.

I know I'm starting to catch the carpenter bees in my backyard traps.

Wasps were terrible at my house last year, and appear like they're gonna be as bad/worse this year. If someone finds a good trap, i'd love to put one to use!

The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

Brother Turtle, if the wasps are contained inside a couple storage sheds...pop the tab on a few Hot Shot No Mess Foggers and throw them inside and shut the door. No more wasp problem. Wait a couple hours then knock all the wasp nests down and spray where they've been nesting plus all corners and along any rafters or bracing with a strong permethrin mix that will leave a long lasting residue and the wasps won't come back.

Yes. Those simple setups work well. The challenge is keeping them from blowing over. If you can affix it to a small base somehow, you'll catch a few wasps.

I tried two foggers I a small building last year and it didn't phase them. But I don't remember what brand. Maybe that matters.
