Blake Wilson just south of Huntsville. He's a member here as well.

Look at the feather detail. Blake is a true artist with birds.

How hard is it to keep that thing clean (dust and such)?

No problems at all. Just a feather duster every now and again and he's good to go.

Thanks brother. My wife killed that one a couple years back and Blake did a jam up job on him. He exceeded all expectations when I went to pick it up.

His ducks have the same quality as well. He has a pair of black ducks of mine now.

I don’t even duck hunt, but I like duck mounts for decorative purposes. One day I’ll be “that guy” that buys mounts off eBay to place in my lodge

Mike mizell at black wings taxidermy. He won beat bird at nwtf. He did my 4 beard bird and has my rio from last year. His mounts are by far the beat I have ever seen. Its worth it to ship it to him. He is competing for world nationals and has a great chance at winning. His normal mounts look just as good as his competition mounts. Only difference is the butthole.

Yep, and he’s a good feller too. I had a deer head fall off the wall last week and smear one of my turkeys he mounted for me. He’s gonna come by my house on his way from Florida to the worlds in Missouri and fix my mount for me.

I thought about using Blackwing before I sent that one to Blake but turkey mounts are expensive enough without the hassle and expense of shipping to and from which adds a significant amount of money to the overall project. Blake was right up the road and as you can see from the pics he's really good.

He's working on a pheasant for me right now.

Rett Kelly / Kelly Taxidermy in Titus, Al. Received a call from him yesterday letting me know my 4 beard from last season is ready for pick up. Had some great work on display when I dropped mine off and have heard nothing but good reviews from others that have used him.

I'd like to get a duck up to the Blake Wilson guy one day. All the work I've seen by him has been top notch.

Full body?
Fan only?
Etc?

I was able to save some money because I sent 2 at once and picked them up in person the following year when I went hunting down there. Killed another bird while down there and was able to drop it off and he mailed it back to me. It cost me $75 for him to ship a full strut mount in a crate. I didn’t think that was an outrageous price,

Not bad at all.... especially if you are able to go by after a hunt.
