Hey fellows this is my second year hunting turkey, and haven't gotten one yet,but I'm determined. My question is I'm a Mobile native, lived here my whole 44 years, but anyway this year I need some help finding some public hunting land to hunt Turkey that isn't under water, that I can walk in to.Dont mind hiking in for a ways if I have to.Not looking for anyone's honey hole or anything,I'm just another hunter without a place of my own to hunt, and I'm looking for somewhere I can scout out to have some fun with some birds thanks guys for all,and any help you can provide me with God bless you all .

Blue Spring has a good population of birds. And it sits in the middle of Conecuh National Forest.
Just North of Baker FL. and South of Andalusia.
Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.
My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

You mean to tell me that the hunting people from Mobile can't even give another hunter s little bit of intelligence on our public land, since when did hunting become so cutthroat, and that's the exact reason why hunting is becoming something of the past for the younger generation.I know there's some older hunters here in the Mobile area that's been on the WMAs in Mobile.Like in Grandbay,Bayoue La Batre,Baldwin county, and several others here in the area. Its not like I am asking for one of you guys to hold my hand and put me in your spot,or your honey hole. For God's sake all I was asking is for a little bit of direction to a area where there's actually some Turkey if a person was to go out a put in the work. But forget it I'll find it myself, I just wish this world would stop being so stuck up,and go back to the days when I was a little boy, when people were happy to help anyone that wanted to either learn how to hunt,or just wanted some advice on finding an area to go hunt.God Help Us All.Ill pray for us all. Thanks for listening to me rant, and please post what you think also

Not trying to be a smart arse, but this is what I do and mostly prefer it this way. Sure if some reliable info comes my way I’ll take it, but I’d just rather keep to myself. And I was just poking a little fun at quailman in my above post. You could probably find a bird to hunt, just have to put in the time.

I’m sorry buddy, but turkey hunters don’t give out locations over the Internet. Get a map for a wma close to you. Identify some areas from satellite imagery and topo maps that should hold birds. Get up early for the next few days and go listen for gobbles and then scout and look for turkey sign. No true turkey hunter is going to tell you where to go on the Internet.

http://www.aldeer.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2738581&page=1Scroll down to see the reported kills per county. Baldwin is way down the list and you'd have to get online with the state site to even find Mobile. 141 for Baldwin. Mobile would likely be at the very bottom. Combine that with minimal acreage, river flooding and the secretive nature of a turkey Hunter and Public land questions on a public forum.......good luck. The Upper Delta would be the best bet, but it has been under water since December and you'll be lucky to hunt it in the next month. There just aren't a lot of options. I've never been to Grand Bay, but would imagine it is hunted hard if there are many birds.

Man if I was closer I’d help you. I’d say work with what you’ve got. Spend as much time in the woods as you can. Listen way more than calling and scratch, a lot. Good luck and post pics when you get you one. If you’re not experienced in calling start with a Quaker Boy Box call. If you happen to strike one soft call, scratch, shut up and wait. Then wait more. Then wait a little longer.

Why wouldn’t we fellow hunters help this guy out? Why wouldn’t a guy ask for help on a hunting forum? Isn’t this the right place to go? Brothers helping brothers?
