I just wanted everyone to know this. I attended a funeral in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee last week. During the funeral procession to the cemetery we passed several hundred vehicles. I believe 99% pulled off to the side of the road or stopped completely in the road with their lights and flashers on as we passed by. Now this wasn't just on two-lane roads it was also on four-lane divided roads. I was very impressed by the respect that the people up there had for the dead and I was moved. This was the way it used to be in Alabama when I was younger but these days when you see a funeral procession you also see vehicles just passing on by and, on occasion, vehicles pulling into the procession that have no business being there. What happened to respect folks? I think people just don't care anymore or aren't taught any better but I'll say this: Whenever I see a funeral procession passing by I will surely stop and turn my lights on out of respect for those who have passed on! I hope all of you do the same.
Remember, wherever you go that's where you are.

Most everybody stops here.

Most people stop around here. I have seen people stop mowing yards.

I've always seen people stop. However, if I die and we come rolling through, you guys can keep mowing or driving or whatever, I don't think I'll care I don't think I will either but like funerals and wakes, it's for the living they leave, not for the dead.

That must be a jasper thing. Everywhere around jasper does. I’m not 20 minutes north of y’all and still see people stop. It may be. Or Walker County, not sure. I see it all the time. Makes me ill.

Went to my wife's Uncles a funeral a few years ago in Memphis. Big John was a WWII Veteran and loved by many. As we followed we had some democratic folks try and pass the funeral procession in the left hand lane. The motorcycle LEOs put hem on the shoulder fast so that they never were never seen by the immediate family. All lanes were blocked and we all were saluted as everyone entered the cemetery. It was as nice send off for him, the wife and I felt privileged to be there.
I always stop and take my hat off when a procession approaches.

I was raised to pull over, stop and turn the radio off for every funeral.
