So walking out today I went to check a scrape and found TINY tracks in it. A few feet from the scrape in the mud there were more of the same track. I wish I had taken pics, may go back and do so. They were full tracks seriously no longer than 2”, I’d estimate 1.75”. November/December drop fawn?
Yearling does can come into their first estrous cycle later than the normal rut time in your area, sometimes 2 or 3 months later. There have been a few times over the years that I have seen spotted fawns around Christmas, which would indicate that they were dropped approximately 2 months later than average.
Ive sae a spotted fawn dead on side of road in autauga county before in april, so theres no telling but if i had to guess it may be hogs. I had never hunted around hogs until last year a few moved in. I thought it was fawn tracks before i got them on camera.
I'm in Baldwin county and have been watching three sets of fawns several nights a week 50 feet from my back door for the last two months eating corn and rice bran. One set has spots, they are fading but still visible, 20 to 25 pounds tops.
