Taking the family to the big island for vacation in March. Actually I told the family I am going turkey hunting and they were welcome to come along and do whatever they want. I've looked at the regs (from what I have read I believe turkey hunting is only permitted in Units A, F and G) and even sent an email to Jon Sabati about a month ago but he hasn't responded. Have looked at the Parker Ranch, but to be honest i would rather hunt them than kill them if you know what I mean so I am going public. Obviously I can't imagine anybody can tell me exact locations even if they wanted to, but any general advice or words of wisdom would be appreciated. Oh and I already know it will be rough terrain and high altitude. Thanks for anything you can offer. Hunting solo and would love to have a partner but my wife frowns on me inviting people I've met on the internet.

I looked at going last year during spring break as well. The guy really talked me out of it. Said they are not gobbling that time of year. Hard to call. You basically just sit and wait from what I could gather. He told me it was no problem killing one as they were abundant. But he didn't make it sound like turkey hunting. So I passed.
