This. You really start to laugh at yourself for draggin, then processing one in the rain. Been there more times than good days.. The older i get the more picky i am.. But when i hunt, im there from night to night in a tree. I dont hunt with anyone either besides my kid.

I totally agree with inatree ! Back in my younger days I would of been sitting in my tree stand regardless of the rain. Maybe it's age, laziness, or wisdom? Pulled the trigger on a doe yesterday so the Mrs is happy to have fresh tenderloin.

Well I can't stand sitting at the house knowing it's
deer season. This is the season I cherish the most.
We only get X amount of days to hunt deer,Yes the weather
was crappy, but they don't give you weather days to make
Up like school. I let basket rack 6 point go at 4:20 this evening.
I garuantee most of you turkey hunters would have been out there
If it was tornadoes on the ground.

My experience is in a very light mist or drizzle they move well. I’ve seen a field slap fill up in a light drizzle

I’d like to have a really nice shooting house in a jam up
Spot for rainy days.....

My daughter killed a doe right at dark this evening. Hunting in a shooting house wasn't bad, but tracking and cleaning a deer in the rain sucked. She hasn't killed one in a good while, so I wasn't about to tell her no.

May the sound of hounds never die!

They bed up on our place in rains like today. They will move some in the pines but they are too thick to hunt (can only see 20-30 yards in most places). Tomorrow though should be wide open if the rain quits about lunch.
