I can usually find a decent and comfortable way to “hunt” in a rain like we are having today. I’ve even had some successes in this kind of weather. What I really don’t like is having to drag and handle my kill when everything is sopping wet. This. You really start to laugh at yourself for draggin, then processing one in the rain. Been there more times than good days.. The older i get the more picky i am.. But when i hunt, im there from night to night in a tree. I dont hunt with anyone either besides my kid.

Oh trust me I'm not where as mad at them as I used to be. Lol I totally agree with inatree ! Back in my younger days I would of been sitting in my tree stand regardless of the rain. Maybe it's age, laziness, or wisdom? Pulled the trigger on a doe yesterday so the Mrs is happy to have fresh tenderloin.

I’d like to have a really nice shooting house in a jam up Spot for rainy days.....

On the distance I like to walk to my stands: “The first 100 yards is also the last 100 yards.”

My daughter killed a doe right at dark this evening. Hunting in a shooting house wasn't bad, but tracking and cleaning a deer in the rain sucked. She hasn't killed one in a good while, so I wasn't about to tell her no.
May the sound of hounds never die!
