Clue me in please , what is this new law ? Guess I’m a outlaw Have to bring back all out of state deer 100% intact only allowed to gut them and need to make sure it is placed in the back of the truck in a way that makes the carcass visible from overhead when crossing back into the state. What? I thought we were talking about CWD? Where doing what you mention exactly is illegal.

I hope that your reply is in jest. The truth is that you can't bring a deer into AL from any other state unless it is 100% deboned and all spinal/brain matter is removed.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Got an email last night, starts with this:
"Hunters who travel out of state should be aware that the Enforcement Section of the Alabama Wildlife and Freshwater Fisheries (WFF) Division has significantly increased its surveillance of roads along state borders, looking for persons illegally importing deer carcasses.
The regulation that banned the import of cervid body parts from states known to be CWD-positive was enacted three years ago to safeguard against disease transmission. When a Mississippi deer tested positive for chronic wasting disease (CWD) earlier this year, DCNR was already in the process of expanding its prohibition of the importation of carcasses of white-tailed deer and other cervids (elk, mule deer, moose, etc.) to include all states." Got that same email.

I have a website on the internet for my European Mount business that I have had since 2005.
In the past, I have gotten mule deer and whitetail deer heads shipped to me from all over the country. Last I remember I have gotten game heads in from 25-30 different states for skull mounts.
I have not taken an out of state deer from contact through my website in the last 3 years. I now can and will only do Alabama deer.
I'm about to shut my website down and save that $10.00 per month web site hosting fee. No need in me having a website for local deer.
I have probably lost 25-35% of my business by not being able to take out of state game heads. Just last year I had a potential client call me from Minnesota that wanted me to skull mount 45 whitetail deer. He was going to drive them down to me and come back and pick them up when I had them completed. I knew that his state was a CWD positive state and last years regulation prohibited deer parts from a CWD positive state from coming in to Alabama. I told him that I could not take them and turned him down.
With the new regulation, now I can't take deer from any state whether it's a CWD positive state or not.
I don't want CWD in Alabama. Nobody does. I'll abide by the law or regulation because it's law and I'm always going to try my best to comply. I really don't think CWD will get in our state from a dead deer. I think this is a disease that is going to be transmitted from live animal to live animal. Just my opinion but hey, I'm not a scientist, biologist, doctor, veterinarian or a researcher. I may be totally wrong in my opinion. I just don't know. I hope and pray that ongoing or future research finds a way to combat this disease or finds out that it may not be such a big problem.
Let me be clear. I'm not complaining about the new law at all, I'm just trying to chime in to show how the new law has affected my small part time business.
