I'm sure this has been covered several times but which climber is the lightest, easiest to pack, safest to climb bow stand for an older man. It's time to buy a new one.

Has any manufacturer ever built one using carbon fiber or titanium components? Absolutely not cost effective but it would be interesting to see how light it is possible to make one. ive got an old camo ol man that is made out of something similar to PVC. it is the lightest one ive ever been around. I climb in it often.

From what i researched it was the all carbon models and the ones with a steel upper were ok. Ive got 4 of them..2 all carbons(one cracked) and 2. Metal upper stands. I think the lawsuits from those early ones is what put the original ol man under and forced them to sell the company. I like my steel uppee carbon lower multivision..good light weight stand. I dont think many ever messed up but the few that did were enough to do them in. Somebody correct me if im wrong.

I use a Lone Wolf Sit & Climb with a Hazmore net seat. Probably weighs 14 to 15#.

The only climber I have now is a TSC I think, made by Buckscent. It's a blade climber & i want a belt or cable type. I'm looking at the lone wolf sit and climb or a tree walker. Other than that I'm open for ideas. It would be nice if the lone wolf came with the hazmore seat without adding more money to an already expensive stand. The tree walker already has a net seat.

I would have said Xstand mini. Just got one and it is light easy to carry and set up. But then you said climb for an old man. I'm only 31 and in good shape and I get nervous climbing it sometimes. Only climbed it twice and I'm sure I will get better. But with my summit I'll climb to top then put a harness around tree. I wouldn't leave the ground in the Xstand not attached to the life line.

I have a XOP hand climber and I am 24 agree completely. ^^^ They are the best on weight but you sacrifice some stability and secureness.

I had a x stand sit and climb once. That sucker was super light. I just never could get comfortable in it. Ended up getting rid of it. But you wanna talk light weight that's it. I'd take a xop or a lone wolf over the x stand though. That's just my opinion.
May not have killed anything, but always a good time

Rblaker, I'm in the middle of 8 straight 12 hour shifts but I'm off work next week maybe we can work something out.
