Awesome deer. Almost December and still in velvet? Was something wrong with it's nuts?

Yep, they were tiny. Don't think he was going to be impregnating anyone this year.

Congrats Sakky! That’s a trophy for sure. I’m sitting on the ground in a bottom looking up a hardwood ridge. I know there is a pretty good crop of 3/4 year old in this general area (+-500acres) that would all be decent kills. [Linked Image]

In a shooting house on a plot surrounded by deep woods. Maybe something will drift in here soon.

A handful of does and a 5 point so far for me this evening. If I see another doe closer to dark I might put some meat on the ground.

Rain got here earlier than expected. Admittedly I had not checked the hour hourly forecast since this morning but last I’d seen showed it moving in at 7. I weathered first few showers then it got hard and I retreated to a shooting house. Hadn’t sat here in awhile and pines are blocking half my view. I fished til nearly 3 then ran and got in stand.
I’ll have to return here with my machete.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to have a shoulder mount done. He's just so unique and it means a lot to me.
