[CAMERA THIEF'S
Where do I start. Ughhhhh went to different hunting locations many miles apart to discover a camera stole at each location. Totally sucks and disheartening. I will be purchasing the cable lock system unless there is something better. Burns me up. Any suggestions?

They need an internal tracking device that will let you meet the thief face to face. It is a sick feeling when the camera is gone-All the data and someone has been there also trespassing. Been there and felt like that several times.

Thats the way to do it. Mulitple cams. Some high, some low. Dont use the straps that come with them. They seem to always stand out.
Take a piece of 1/2" copper pipe about 6" long. Smash it flat with a hammer. Drill couple of 1/4" holes on one end at about the 1" and 2" mark. On the other end drill a 1/4" hole at the 1" mark.
Get your game cam and there will be a 1/4" threaded in the bottom of most brands and you can get a wing bolt for it.. Match it up on the copper end with the single hole. Bend the copper into a L shape so it fits your particular camera.
Then you can use the 2 hole end to screw onto tree. The copper is easy to bend so you can adjust the angle very easily and the whole little piece is behind the camera hidden.

First step is to tell the game warden, property owner, and to fill out a trespassing and theft report with the sheriff. I had this problem. We pretty much knew who it was, but had no proof. I had gates torn up, fields torn up, and cameras stolen. It didn't hurt that the warden's dad leased the adjoining property. The warden went to the suspects parents house and asked them to please call him if they saw anything out of the norm.

I had python cables and lock boxes. They cut the cables and stole the boxes and cameras. The cables were laying at the base of the tree. I don't know if it's better, but I now screw the boxes to the trees and try to camouflage it. The other thing is to use blackout cameras. The dude that got on my place was tearing up the fields at night and we think he saw the red glow.

I would set up a few decoy cams with hidden cams watching them from multiple angles.

I put mine high. They gonna climb and use cutters for the cable OR they have to figure out how to hold on to the tree and break the cable eyes off the cam. Heres 1 I hung last week

I just use a ladder or screw in steps to hang mine. It just depends on if i drive to the area or bike in.

I only buy Stealth cams with the security code that must be keyed in to make it operable. They can cut off my Python locks but they won't be able to use the cam.

I’ve been thinking about getting one of those Breadcrumb tracking devices and see how they work and maybe figure out a way to put one inside a camera. I also have a good friend who works for LoJack that said he has something that can be put in one.

Someone also posted about a game cam that had a gps tracker in it. If they tun it off it won’t work but as soon as they turn it on you can find it. Can’t remember name though.
