Looking to buy my son his first atv. Not wanting to buy new because, well, he is a boy

I would like something taken care of, so we dont have to spend all our time working on it, but do not mind having to work on it a little.

NW AL only please

I wouldn't do a 50cc for a nine year old, it's really small. I'd go with a mid sized 90/110.

My 8 yo is on a 200 honda. I feel better with him on it than I did when he was on his 50. It was most likely in my head but I felt like the 50 didn't have a large enough foot print to be stable on semi tight turns. He knows not to get past 3rd gear and as of now does not ride out of my sight. I know when he gets turned loose he will not be as safe as when I am watching, but who was. He weighs 98lbs and outgrew the 50 around 75 lbs. If buying new and a 125 is still an option, I would think that would be the right range. I found his 200 at a deal and the frame fit him fine when he was around 4 ft tall.

I have a Yamaha YFM80 for sale on here. It's been a great machine. I got it from anther ALDEER member when my son was 6, now that he is 13, he has outgrown it and looking to sell it to upgrade. Asking $650 - here is the link to the ad.
