Probably his best post of the year. He could have gone on about that sugar huddle a little longer. It makes them look like something in jr. high.

While it is highly out of character for .257 to just come right out and tell you what exactly what he thinks in a very straightforward manner without sugar coating it, I must say, this is probably the best post this year on the football forum. Pure TRUTH.

And while I'm commenting here, on the Tua hit, yes the guy came in low. You are seeing it more and more because of the dumbass targeting calls you're seeing thsi year anytime someone bumps helmets. If you try to hit someone high in the chest and that person drops down, you've got a 50/50 chance of going to the locker room for the rest of the game and first half of the following. More DBs are coming in low and staying below the waist for that reason. I absolutely love Tua as a QB. I was one of the ones at the beginning of last season that was calling for Saban to take his blinders off and play him last year ahead of Jalen. At the same time, it was a legal hit under the current rules and that is just football. It is why girls dont play the game. My oldest son is a college QB and yeah, if he is on the field, be it in clean-up garbage time or whatever, I get pissed and yell when someone comes in low, late or whatever, but football is a contact sport and the goal is to get the QB on the ground. DBs now days tackle more with their helmets and shoulders than the traditional shoot your arms and wrap up anyway. How many times have you seen a DB fly in and try to cut a RB rather than wrapping him up? Prob 75% of the time. Thats exactly what happened with Tua. Tua shifted to the right and the DB adjusted his pursuit angle and launched. Had he shot his arms and wrapped up as he hit Tua, it would have looked like a perfect low form tackle. It did not appear to be intentional to me. It is football.

Gus sucks as a coach and you could bet your butt that if my team was getting their ass kicked and my QB was sitting on the sideline laughing and smiling like Stidham, I'd be in his face. Actually, I wouldnt have to be. The culture on my team would be such that the players would take care of that amongst themselves. And that right there "the culture", which starts at the top, is why AU football is in the state that they are in. Heck, if we lost on the road in HS, our bus rides home were hrs of total silence. There wasnt any smiling and laughing. Everyone was pissed off and acted like it.

Agreed but if he does commit, he'll immediately be touted as the next savior of AU football and projected to decimate the SEC, win the heisman, and lead AU to the Natty before he even takes the first snap. Midway through next season, everyone will be calling for a different QB to take the snaps. It's a lose lose for Kelly.

He can't manage and lead Auburn, How can he manage and guide a pro team. I do not see him being drafted. Not impressed with his leadership skills.

I just hope stidham goes pro so we don"t have to put up with him next year. It would be even better if gus went with him to coach the cleveland browns.

He wont commit to the barn. Imagine how it'd look when he got beat out by a freshman for the second year in a row.

Stidham didn't have the breakout year we were expecting hopefully he will hang around for another year and up his stock. Im sure he will give Gus another year to develop him he would be a first round pick

Haven't looked hard at Stidham's stats but my general feeling is that his draft potential has been hurt by playing at Auburn. He looks like he is still playing with the same skill level that landed him a spot on the roster instead of developing and improving at the D1 level. But what do I know.
