That's the truth right there. When you turn on the TV and his jackets off, put on a helmet and hide in a closet.
I've grown up watching James Spann and he knows every back road in Alabama.
One day the right woman will come along and the next thing you know you'll be wearing her underwear!

He's great at knowing where the stump is on thigpen rd behind where the tasty freeze used to be but, he's as bad as the rest of them at knowing what the weather is gonna do. I'm probably more critical of the wather geeks than most. And you almost guarantee the opposite of whatever the wather channel says. But I have to give James Spann credit, he don't miss often. I have his link on my phone and I trust it more than any other local forecast.
My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

I also like that Spann calls out ignorant dipshits instead of "taking the high road" and ignoring their stupidty, whining or other asshattery.
Jason Simpson at WHNT and Brad Travis at WAFF in H'sv are solid, too.

He's great at knowing where the stump is on thigpen rd behind where the tasty freeze used to be but, he's as bad as the rest of them at knowing what the weather is gonna do. It's damn near impossible to predict exactly what it is going to do, especially severe weather. Mother Nature isn't really known for her predictability. I find it funny that every meteorologist in the country can look at the same information and make a very similar prediction regarding timing, severity, etc. of a weather event, and when it doesn't happen precisely as forecasted they are called dumbasses and idots just out for ratings.
Yeah, well, I always heard there were three kinds of suns in Kansas: sunshine, sunflowers, and sons-of-bitches.

Nobody expects them to be precise. James Spann was actually very vocal about one of my chief complaints a couple of years back. We went through a phase when it seems like a tornado warning was issued every time a dark cloud formed and they would activate every weather siren in a three county radius. It reached a point where it actually comical and nobody paid any attention to them. James spann was one those who began calling attention to the obvious flaws in that logic and its gotten much better.

IIRC, James went through some very hard times after he left the Birmingham market many years ago. He came back and has done very well. I don't watch his forecasts because I watch the Fox affiliate in Birmingham for my news, but when the weather gets rough he's the best around.
I once heard he has the highest rating in the history of the Birmingham market, even higher than the Iron Bowl, for one of his severe weather events. No one can move the ratings like James.
