I'm with you on that. No way in hell I would hang a lock on for a single hunt

Yep.Took about the same time as my climber, less weight, packs easier and gave me more trees to choose from.

You don't know how to use a climber then

The same could be said about y’all and lock ons. Been using a climber for 20 years, just started using a lock on last year. It’s not that hard to set up and take down.

I doubt your loc-on is gonna be large enough and comfy enough for me. I probably have 12 loc-on set ups at the club, and the ones that are large enough to be comfy, I wouldn't want to pack in and out of a place very far. I have a very well built buckshot climber that's safer than any stand I've seen. Your surrounded by a rail the entire time your in it. It takes less than five minutes for me to put it on a tree and climb. Maybe ya'll need to try other climbers. It's your business, you want pack them in and put them up, go right ahead.

I’ve got a summit... I’m about to sell it in the next couple weeks. I’ve always used a summit. I’ve spent more time sleeping in that stand than actually hunting. That’s one of the reasons I’m going to sell it. I’m just using the saddle and LW to hunt out of now. Everyone has there style and preference. This is mine.

I’m comfortable in my lw and saddle but not to the point of falling asleep. It’s like sitting in a wooden chair or a lazy boy. I’m less likely to sleep in the wooden chair over the lazy boy, but I’m comfy in both.

Preferences aside, there is no arguing the advantage that a mobile lock on or saddle offers in terms of tree selection. I will always keep a plush climber because it can certainly help on long sits, and in an area with plenty good straight trees there isn’t a much downside. A saddle hunter can get in any tree that won’t fall over with him

My set up is 4 LW sticks plus a M100u. Super easy to hang that model thanks to the mounting bracket system and it's extremely comfortable. Not the lightest set up out there, but for me I'm happy with the portability/comfort balance. We've all got our preferences and not a thing wrong with that.

somebody stole my summit off my back porch so i got the field and stream brand hang on and a set of their sticks for $100 all together. put it up for the first time today after some trial and error with fastening the sticks to the stand to pack in and I managed to get into a spot but it was definitely more of a hassle than the climber and didn't feel quite as safe.

Timed myself today and took a tad under 11 minutes to get down taking the stand and steps with me. That doesn’t count getting the bird’s nest knot out of my pull up rope. rolleyes Might time myself going up tomorrow if I think about it. Main thing is it’s one trip up and one trip down if you got your act together.

That’s pretty good I was averaging 17min last year by the end of season. That was trying to be as silent as possible.

There is a slight learning curve that's for sure. Setting up is easy, I would say the hard part is toting the sticks up.

I carry them up on my safety harness (now on my saddle) with 550 Cord

Yea I just need to go get some to do that simple mod.

I can strap my climber on the tree in under a minute and be 20 foot up drinking a drink in another 2 mins

We will burn that bridge when we get there

Here is the method for 1 trip up. In 5 minutes if you are young and in shape. 11 minutes if you are me.
