Where is a good place to buy fingerlings?

I'd rather skin a gut shot deer than work any day WTFO.

Suttle Fish Farm in Laurel, Ms. Great guys to do business with if the drive is not a factor.

I know the calhoun county COOP's in Jacksonville and Piedmont has a company (I think from Arkansas) that will come by from time to time with a fish stock truck and sales fish. I got some catfish from them to stock my pond but I know the guy sale more that just catfish. You could ask your local COOP so see if they have someone that comes by like that. I've never checked into any company that delivers them though.

Southeastern Pond Management's closest office is in Alabaster.

Unless you have an appropriate amount of forage in it first, they'll probably recommend doing that to start ... bream, fatheads, shad, etc.

These are old farm ponds . Nothing has been done to them in years, so I am assuming that they are full of bream at least.

It would be smart to get an idea of what is there before just throwing fish in them. Most ponds left unmanaged over time will tend to have few bluegill and be overcrowded with small bass.

I stocked and managed ponds in Georgia for 10 years and dealt with Don and Berry many times. You will not find anybody more knowledgeable about ponds in the Southeast. If they don't provide services in your area they can point you in the right direction. The pond stocking industry is small so everybody knows one another. Hope this helps.
