I just found a dead buck in my back yard, the second dead buck I have seen in the past few weeks. Should I call the state and let them investigate ? Could have been hit by a car but the first one I saw was no way it was. All this CWD talk has me a little nervous.

While you're on the phone, ask if they know any good places to eat at the beach.

I would definitely call. 2 dead bucks in your backyard in 3 weeks would also have me a little worried.

Inviting the DCNR on my property to snoop around is the last thing id do. what could they possibly do anyway they are wild animals. did the deer look skinny like it wasted away?

One was down the street a couple of miles in a customers yard. I dont hunt around here so I dont really care about them snooping. Didnt get close enough to see how healthy it looks, just saw some buzzards on the ground near the creek and looked with binos to see what they were eating.

So collecting a sample for a CWD test is considered snooping? I’ve collected dozens of deer, and never once have I walked beyond where the deer was, or even cared what was going on where the deer are. Collect sample and get out.

I would imagine that Game wardens would also view people that invite them to their property as not an outlaw.
Obviously, I'm not suggesting being a bootlicker asskisser but that's what makes sense to me anyways.

Yeah, I'm going to call them tomorrow and see if they want to take a look. Hopefully they will let me know if they find something.
