There are many reason's why Dollar General is winning the discount local dollar store business while Family Dollar is not fairing so well. Here is an example. Looters in NC cleaned out the Family Dollar and when police arrived the manager told the popo to stand down. I prefer the Dollar General. The family dollars in my area are just plain trashy

Dollar General before Family Dollar any day of the week. Like James said they're just nasty or at least the ones I've been in.

They are about too build two in troy . They are building one on 29 between Troy and Luverne. Great location choice for a business.

I get my shampoo toothpaste deodorant etc at dollar general but the food there is awful

I get my shampoo toothpaste deodorant etc at dollar general but the food there is awful Its all frozen pizza crap, but for stuff like toilet paper and diapers without having to go through the torture of Walmart is great.

I hate the electronic sales and discounts they both have now.lots of elderly folks and a lot of people that don’t have smart phones cant buy things at sale prices. I watched a little old man have to put his stuff back up the other day thinking he was getting things on sale and had no idea what the cashier was telling him he had to do to get the discounts.

The localish FD is very nice and well stocked of everything I don't need. The local DG is not so perfect but has what I need when I need it. The DG MarketPlace stores are awesome but not one near me.

There is a DG between home and work. 7/10 mile one way. I go a lot.
