Pondering on one for a cleanup project. There are several types out there. Does anyone have one for their tractor and what are pros and cons. Some have a dual clamp and some single. Any brand recommendations?

Construction Attachments. Many dealers in Alabama that are reputable have these in stock or are a dealer. They are built heavy and stand behind their product.

Whichever brand you get, get one with a slotted bottom. We bought ours at KA fabrication in Guntersville. He makes attachements for CAT and other tractor mfgs. It's indestructible. I've bulldozed acres of privet with it, used it like a root rake, dug up rocks, stumps, and pretty much tried to destroy it and I have failed to do so. I don't think you'd find a better one out there.

We run ours off the rear remotes. We have 2 hydraulic lines that are "permanently" mounted all the way to the front end of the loader arms.

I just put a 3rd function on my Kubota L3800 and added a grapple bucket as well! Best thing i have ever done! I ordered the 3rd function from Everything attachments and they have an amazing grapple but there was about a three month waiting list ...so i went with a different grapple! The one thing you need to keep in mind is the weight of grapple when using it with a FEL on a tractor! I bought one from Mid-state equipment and total shipped was around $1200. I believe mine is a 48" grapple and only weighed about 80lbs more than Everything attachments wicked grapple and I have been well pleased with it!

Yes you CAN , but....

It will be MUCH easier and handier to get a third function hydraulic control that uses an electric valve operated by a switch. We use ones from WR Long out of North Carolina but several companies make them. The one we use has a knob with a switch built in that replaces the knob on your loader joystick control handle. That way you can open and close the grapple with the same hand your lifting and rotating the grapple with.

Using a rear remote for this would require taking your hand off the lever to open or shut your grapple then going back to the control lever to move the loader.

Construction Attachments, with 2 separate grippers, and a WR Long third function valve. When I bought my first tractor with a loader, I asked the dealer to quote a factory third function valve. They told me they would install whatever I wanted, but they preferred the Long valve. I preferred it, anyway. Using this valve lets you keep using your rear remotes while using the grapple.

I put a front remote on my 50hp, bought my grapple in Huntsville. I had several acres of cutover to clean up so it was well worth the investment.

I put a 3rd function on my kubota and bought a 66" ebay grapple out of ga.. 3 days to my door and cost $995 shipped.

I tried a single lid and did not like it. I ordered a dual like and it works much better grabbing irregular brush and stuff.

My 3rd function kit was $750.. If id have had rear remotes already I would not have bought the 3rd function kit.
