I got my rusty 10-year-old broke down grill back up and running one more time this evening. I got another New York Strip, patted it down on both sides with Montreal steak rub after letting it get to room temperature, and grilled it about 3.5 minutes on each side. After it rested for ten minutes, I put two dollops of real butter on top and placed the steak on a plate with a generous helping of mashed potatoes.

The steak came out just a tad too well-done in some places but a beautiful medium pink in others. Good heavens was it fine! Certainly the best I've had in forever. I guess the grill works better for me than a skillet. Now I need to invest in a new grill.

I probably would have skipped the butter but sounds good.

Sig Sauer, to hell and back reliable.

Whatever suits you just tickles me plum to death.

Can I refill your eggnog for you? Get you something to eat? Drive you out to the middle of nowhere and leave you for dead?

I speak English very badly, so let me attempt to interpret this for Y'all.

I have never tried cooking a steak in a skillet that came from another thread. I'm hoping that in a few minutes my wet charcoal spontaneously combusts. It got a little wet cooking 2 New York Strips and 2 Ribeyes. Hopefully that's what they were.

Not it?

Ok, maybe this.

I've never tried to cook a steak in a skillet, like mentioned elsewhere. I'm hoping I can get my charcoal to light since it may have gotten a little wet last night. If I can light it successfully, I'm going to cook 2 New York Strips and 2 Ribeyes.

I'm leaning toward option #1. laugh
