I shaved clean 3 days ago for the first time in 26 years. I can’t stand hair on my neck at all though I’ve had a goatee since before they were cool and I guess way after but will have again in a couple days. But never anything but shampoo

I’ve had a goatee or beard since I graduated high school, with the exception of one week I had to shave to work in a chlorine plant. My kids didn’t know me and my wife cried.

I can’t stand oil or any other crap on me. Right now it’s fairly tight trimmed but I’ve let it get out to 5 or 6 inches long before. The only thing I don’t like is when my mustache starts to curl into my mouth. I have to keep it trimmed.

Full beard here. Mostly trimmed to about 3/4", but occasionally longer.

Wash every day, beard oil or lotion if it gets itchy (not often)

Used to be red, now serious gray. Not sure why that happened.

I use soap. Mine has never itched. I have not been clean shaven in 15 years.

Goatee here. I've had one for the last 16 years I guess, except for a period of about one month. Shaved it off and grew it back. I've always worn it cut short but have been thinking of growing it out some. I just wash it when I shower and that's it.

I use cremo. They have some conditioning stuff that really helps soften it up a bit. If it gets too itch, they have some cream. Plus a nice beard comb helps too

You can get a kit with all three from Walmart

My mustache hasn't been shaved off since I was 16 or 17 years old.

Used to wear a full beard but now just the goatee.

Been wearing it that way for many years now.

Don't use any beard oils or conditioners at all.

For a full, long beard, you're going to want to wash it at least. I have some Cremo beard shampoo my wife got. No idea if it does anything any different than normal shampoo, but my wife likes the way it smells and I like the way...nevermind.

the conditioner has been a game changer for me. Just keeps it clean and healthy. People take care of their normal hair. Why wouldn't you with your beard.

Full beard. Wash it everyday. Condition it once or twice a week.

I'm sure Leviticus says it's a sin somewhere in there. Prolly go to hell for being bearded and tattooed.

So I really dig the way it looks but I'm not so crazy about how it sometimes feels. I'm thinking of maybe doing something somewhere between Jeremiah Johnson and Phil Robertson. I've been looking around online at some beard products but who the heck knows what is good and what works until you try it and I don't want a dozen different tubes of beard goo cluttering up the place. I'd like to make it a little softer and not so itchy. It's not itchy all the time but sometimes is. So what do you bearded ones do if anything, or am I just being a giant wuss?

Put conditioner in it after you wash it. Same as your hair. Mrs. Irish likes to run her fingers through mine. It's embarrassing as stop lights.

Have had a long goatee for the past 4 and a half years since I retired from the military. Keep it about 6" long. Doesn't itch. I think that stage lasted about a week or two when I first started growing it out. Wash daily, that's it.

My beard is so dam rough I don't like rolling around feeling like I've got a spool of barbed wire attached to my face and neck. Getting all up in my shirt collar if I pull a Duck Commander is a complete No Go. I could use it as a weapon if I were to wipe my nose with my arm like the dirty heathen I really am.... it would look like someone hit my shirt sleeve with 60 grit.

My favorite is when some of you facial hair guys get that little patch right up under your lip... I always look at that and I'm like... "Nice nut duster..."

I did a beard two years ago. The first summer it was gone. It was too hot.

I use a beard oil and balm from Southern Gents Beard Company. They make their products over in Hartselle.

Everyone says that, but I just don't get it (again, I keep mine relatively short). Mine's never been noticeable. I will tell you it's a HUGE difference in the winter though. Even a very short, trimmed beard goes a LONG way in keeping your face a little warm when it's cold.

The only reason I use beard oil is to keep it from looking like I got shocked by electricity. Mine grows straight out so the oil helps groom it in a more professional manner... as far as the itching... it will stop once it grows more

When I was still flyin' in the Marines, I knew a guy that could grow a serious, Freddie Mercury style mustache. His callsign was "d*ckbroom."
