Just had a fire break put in on 20 acres. Looking for a way to keep it from overgrowing without having to bring a tractor out to the property. Could a drag harrow pulled by my 4 wheeler keep the ground chewed up enough grass and shrubs wouldn't grow if I drug it 3 or 4 times a year? Never used one so I have no clue what to expect.

You're going to be disappointed with an ATV disc. this unless you take a tractor in and disk once a year, the weight you’ll have to put on the disk to get it to cut deep enough would ultimately destroy it. the drag harrow will basically tamp down the grass/weeds and stay choked up too much to effectively rip the weeds out (if that is what you’re thinking). your best bet for using a drag to clean it would be to spray first so the weeds are dead and brittle when dragged.

Ground sterilization with pramatol or something similar will not allow anything to grow for over a year.
Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

I use a 25 gallon sprayer with a broadcast nozzle or a 15ft bi fold boom for a 4wheeler on the back of the toyota truck Reno has now with gly and 2-4d mixed according to the manufacturer for killing stemy stuff I think gly was like 10% to gallon I can't remember the 2-4d % rates what it called for but I sprayed once a year some times twice. It kept them from growing up and kept the scrub brush from trying to close them in but kept them from washing because I'd let weeds and grass grow about 10 inches tall in the spring then spray it to try and let it get some roots established to help prevent washing before I sprayed it for the year. 10%? Good grief. I don't know of anything that would call for a 10% rate of gly. I will use a 5% solution when I'm spraying what we call cut grass. Everything else is just a 2% solution.

I'll look tomorrow and see for sure but it burns down privet bushes pretty good which is mainly what I'm spraying on fence rows

If you use an arv have a couple of guys tha can help you out. From my experience after about a hundred yards or so someone needs to pick it up and shake it out.
