Leaving for this cruise in 2 weeks. Has anyone on here ever been? This is my first cruise so any advice/tips/recommendations would be helpful

Haven't been on that ship in particular, but have been on some of the others. Where are you going? My wife has been on that one and she loved it. If you plan on having 4-5 alcoholic drinks per day, you may as well just get the drink package.

We’re going to Cozumel, Camen Islands, and Montigo bay. Still debating on wether or not to get the drink pass because I don’t know how many drinks I’ll order on the boat on days we are at port. I did here it’s nice to get the drink package just to sample high end liquor lol

We went out of Mobile 2 weeks ago and we got the drink package. It was steep, but worth it. After taxes/gratuity, the drink package is essentially $60/day.

We most definitely broke even, probably on port days as well. If you're going to have 10 beers/day, or 5 cocktails/day, or a mixture of each, it's not hard to break even.

In Cozumel, we went to a place called Nachi Cocom. It was a super laid back beach resort with super strong cocktails and the best Mexican food I've ever had. I would highly recommend. You have to book in advance though. Other people went to Playa Mia or Mr. Sanchos as well, but those are much more crowded.

central ala,
I can say I've never been on a bad cruise. Always Carnival. People tell me the other cruise lines are better but we have been so satisfied with Carnival we are afraid to venture out. I personally prefer the Alaskan cruises but I'm fat and lazy so the temperatures are more to my liking. Catch some of the shows. Surprisingly i found them to be pretty good. Not something I would have done without my wife wanting to. I never have really liked the meals at night where it's kinda dressy. Just the atmosphere.

We were in Cozumel a couple of weeks ago with Carnival. The activities are okay. The best thing to me was the round-the-clock pizza and soft serve ice cream. Took lots of "naps" with the wife. Food was pretty good. Guys burgers rocked. I must gave gained 10 pounds. Our excursion was a snorkel off of Sky Reef. It was awesome. Lunch was included but was bland. I told my wife we needed to get back to Alabama for good Mexican food. A few folks from our group went to Mr. Sanchos on their excursion but didnt seem too impressed. I was disappointed in the port shops in Cozumel. Same prices as back home and no one was willing to haggle.

Swimming with the sting rays is a cool excursion in the Caymans.

Took the wife on Carnival (Mobile) for our first cruise back in March. It was a blast. Plenty of things to do on the ship while at sea and the ports were interesting for us as we have never been out of the country. We will be going again in a few years. By the way, plan on gaining a few pounds, food is pretty good.

You won't ever see my white arse on a cruise ship ever again! I went on one 12 years ago on a honey moon and I couldn't get back fast enough. probably had something to do with being Oct 15th too.

Went about this time last year. Heavy drinking and gambling aren’t really my thing so there wasn’t much to do except enjoy watching my wife be happy. The shows were mostly a bunch of queers jumping around pn stage.
The food was the est thing about it. Best salmon I ever ate and it wasn’t a skimpy little piece either.
Those filipinos on that boat are some hard working folks. They even put mexicans too shame.

And don’t be afraid to order 4 things for dinner and take 1 bite of each. You’ve paid for it, get it if you want it.

Been on several. Go to dollar general and buy a cheap box fan. Kids running up and down the halls all night. You can just leave it on the ship when you leave.

Drink package and the shows are a must on the boat. The food is pretty good but wasn’t impressed. Went on my first one this year with my rugby team. I would go back on another cruise with the team only because we play teams on the islands we go to. If it weren’t for the team aspect, I’d rather fly to the Bahamas or wherever and not set foot on another cruise ship. Just not my thing. I can only gamble and drink so much before it gets old.

I was a land sailor. Assigned to a recon Marine platoon.
Never been on a ship, ain't never going on one, you couldn't get me on a cruise at gunpoint.

We have been on that same ship and same itinerary. We loved it but agreed that the shorter cruises are the way to go. Time slows down on those ships which is nice. We are going on another 4 day cruise in August
