The neighbors behind us has a dachshund that will bark if the wind blows and they tend to leave him outside for hours at a time. I have twice spoken to them about his barking and that has failed to keep them from leaving him outside to bark. Some mornings they let him out as early as 5:30am and he wakes us up barking. Since the first of the year we have twice called the police because the dog has barked for hours on end. Today I got home at 4 and he barked until 8 when I confronted the neighbor. Tomorrow I will file a complaint with animal control but other than that what can be done?

Shoot him in balls with a BB gun when he barks. Pretty soon he should stop.

If you mean the neighbor, then yes this is the answer. I know I would shut my dog up, if I got shot in the nads everytime he barked.

You are trying to be a good man and handle this responsibly. But people like this care about no one but themselves. I hope it can be resolved to some degree. Don’t hold out much hope though. These people think it’s their god given right to allow their dog’s barking to affect others around them.

What he means is, with these people your only hope is likely offing the dog yourself. But now that you’ve voiced your problem they’ll know it was you if you end up having to solve it that way . Maybe it could be solved with an extensive legal battle without killing the dog. (?). I’m sure this neighbor regards that dog like his first born child and doesn’t take kindly to anyone criticizing it’s precious barking.

I'm in the same boat as you. Every time we walk outside to enjoy our yard, the neighbor's dogs (Jack Russell's) run up to the fence and bark incessantly. I've had to hang up from cell phone calls because I couldn't hear. Talking to the neighbors about it would be unproductive since they regard them as granddogs. A squirt gun filled with ammonia to their eyeballs is very tempting.

Soak a loaf of bread in castor oil and the sonuvagun will be too scared to bark after that 1st gut bubble hits.

You live in the city or county? Subdivision with restrictions/HOA etc? Just research and figure out what you have in your favor. If there are no ordinances or covenants where you live, you'll just have to live with it.

People like that don't care about nobody just their dog. They make ways to stop it from barking like a shock collar. Your neighbor will probably not fix the problem. Complaining with openly acknowledge you had a problem with the dog if something happens to it.

I am facing the same problem with douchebag neighbors. I have 4 dogs that never bark. This little bastard never stops. Luckily for me my company will be buying this house soon enough.
