Looking into buying my first. Cant decide to go 18-20' or 24-25'. I like the short frame for ease of towing and storage, but also like the longer frames for more inside space. Mainly for state parks and beach, but will dry camp too on the farm. For all y'all campers what do you wish you would have gotten or glad you did? Just cant decide whats best at this point.

Airstreams are more money but from what I've heard the build quality is head and shoulders better.
Normal campers & most RVs plummet like a rock in value because they don't age very well.

I won't be buying an airstream, I won't camp enough in my lifetime to justify spending 60k on a 25' camper. From my expereince pricing out campers I wouldn't say they plummet like a rock, they do depreciate, but it seems on par with vehicles.

I meant purchasing a used Airstream. Wasn't clear with that.

Buy bigger when you can, not a lot of difference in weight nor towing and you will appreciate the room. There are a lot of cool floor plans in the 24 - 26' units now especially those with slide outs

Bigger is better imo. Slide outs help with space and comfort. I personally won't buy one with carpet because of mud and sand. If you buy used, look for leaks/water damage.

Size depends on if it's just you or if you have family. We started out with an 18' to hunt out of then my wife decided to go so now there's 4 of us. It was like a sardine can we graduated to 24' all the while kids getting bigger. We now have a 34' KZ SPREE bumper pull with bunks and super slide. If you have family bunks are great not the kind they stick in a corner but a separate room. Slide out is a must plus all the appliances. AS much storage as you can get then some. As far as weight there's a lot of lightweight campers including fifth wheels that are 1/2 ton towable. If camping in the winter always carry a extra bottle of propane or know where to get it,the gas furnace sucks it up. But I would start with 24'-27' either way. A good weight distribution hitch plus sway bar is a must. Make sure you shop around and don't get a camper where the bunkroom has a slide that slides directly out the rear, they tend to leak.

I've got 31' of living space with a super slide in the living my area. The back has a bunk house floor plan for the kids. I wished I had of gotten one with a slide out in the bunk house and the master bed room as well. An outdoor kitchen is nice too.

We now wish we had got a slide out bunk, but now our 20 yr.old son doesn't go as much except during deer season. But he doesnt fit on a bunk well anyway hes 6'3' . As far as outside kitche i assumed they would just attract ants and opted for the storage compartment. Every slide adds a good bit of weight also.

There's no way that I'd ever buy a new camper. The minute you pull it off the lot, before you ever camp in it, you will have lost 25% of what you paid for it. Try to sell it and you're gonna take more loss. Not if but when, it WILL leak. Professional repair costs are thru the roof(no pun intended).

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

We buy new just because we don't want to inherit someone else's problem. As far as leaks I recaulk it every year and keep it well maintained. But I know wht you mean about leaks we had one that if you fixed one another would pop up. We camp a lot it's kinda like a home away from home.

I'd look for a used Grand Design or Winnebago over 20'.

If I buy another camper, it will be an Airstream...but it won't be a new one. Our last camper was 29'...I think I learned that the bigger they are, the less inclined you'll be to use it.

Get the biggest you can pull , don’t get one that has the cooktop and/or sink on the slide, you will appreciate the outside kitchen

Slide out is a must. Amazing at the room it gives.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.
