I have an Amazon FireTV device connected to one tv via an HDMI cable and wired to a router via a Cat-5 cable. My other tv uses an Amazon Firestick directly to the HDMI port on the tv and connects to the router via WiFi.
Both work fine, the slingtv app is on both. You dont have to Amazon Fire devices, you can use a SmartTV, Roku, etc. probably any popular streaming device. Packages run $20 for the low end or $30 for the high end with $5 addons for each sports, family, etc. we pay $25 per month outside football season and $30 during season.

I have Sling TV and get it via my Roku streaming device to one TV only.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

You have to still have High Speed Internet or it will drag.
If you still want to watch local channels you will need to get an antenna.
I hate charter, but had to keep their internet $69/month.
Got a ROKU TV and a ROKU stick for another tv.
You are streaming tv so you can get as many or few apps as you desire.
I have been very happy with the change and I am sure you will as well.

Can yiu elaborate? I'm doing the 7 day free trial of sling right now. We don't watch much TV, and I'm tired of paying directtv over $1,200 a yr.

I've got espn on sling, and then local channels.

I can't attest to sling, but I have the middle Playstation Vue package, and there wasn't a single game I couldn't watch this past year between it and the sports apps on my Amazon Fire TV.

Do you remember the names of the sports apps? I'm trying to cut the cord and figure out how it all works. I've got a fire stick and am treating sling TV.

We just recently upgraded to SLING TV. You will need to get a streaming device like a ROKU to plug into ANY TV, so if you have 3 TVs you'll need 3 ROKUs.. You will also need to have High Speed Internet/WiFi so it will run properly without buffering, which I have never had a problem with. AS for local channels you can by a Antenna to plug into your TV as well, ours picks up 15-20channels. I could get this wrong because I don't remember but you have 2 packages Blue and Orange. Blue runs like $25 but you can only stream it on one TV, Combine Blue and Orange it runs like $45 and you can stream it up to 3 TVs, you can add multiple packages as you see fit and cancel them at anytime. Our local cable and internet bill was $200 a month, having to keep our WiFi, our bill now is about $130, which is still outrageous to me but we only have ONE internet provider in our area so we are at their mercy

I was skeptical about switching over to SLING too now that we have been running on it for a couple months I am happy we did it, plus it saves us $70 a month. I have also heard good things about PlayStation Vue and Fire Stick.

NBC has one, CBS, Watch ESPN, etc. My PSvue picks up the local news channels, so I didn't have a problem getting CBS/ABC games. I would HIGHLY recommend Playstation Vue. We have had it for a year now and don't have a single complaint.

I have researched this stuff for months for our new house as well and the 2 best setups that I have read about over and over is ROKU or Amazon TV with PlayStation Vue or Sling Blue plus Orange (or whatever their high-end package is). I am going with PlayStation Vue once we get into our new house. It comes with 5 streams meaning you can watch media on 5 devices, with Sling orange you only get 1 so if you are watching a Barner game on the living room tv you can't watch anything else on any other TV/Ipad/Phone etc. You will need to get the blue plus orange or whatever their top package is to get 3 streams. The better the WIFI signal the less problems you will have. I am looking at the mesh network systems that ensure a strong Wi-Fi signal throughout the entire house, it cost more than a typical router but it ensures each room in your house has a strong Wi-Fi signal (think of it like cell towers for cell phones). I also plan on hooking up a digital antenna so I can get all the local channels. I am hoping to gradually integrate my house into a smart home but that's a whole nother topic!

We are not perfect, only forgiven!!!

I thought our Direct TV, phone service and internet service was high at about $140 a month, but ya'll have some crazy prices.
