Hooks - the 'player' should be fairly easy to learn on.

Primos Sonic Dome is also nice to learn on. Button helps you get used to putting the call on your sweet spot. Once you learn with that you will put all calls in your sweet spot. Then you can move up to Fatal Attraxion calls. Stony makes some great sounding mouth diaphragm calls. I believe he is an AL Deer member.

First mouth call i ever had was was some quaker boys my brother used. Yep he used them first but i was a little kid and cleaned them up. Gross i know, but i was tickled at the time. Then i got me a woodhaven copperhead and i run turkeys off all over skyline with that thing. Lord i worrked hard to be good at turkey huntin..... Too bad i still aint no count... grin the woodhaven copperhead and v3 were 2 of my favorite mouth calls. I use hunters addiction to purr with and a hatchet creek ridge top cutter to cut an yelp with. Tho 90% of the time i just use my reynolds slate top aluminum an me ye old woodhaven purple heart striker. My brother gave me that striker and i still use it to this day, Probly 10 years ago

I like them too, but not for a beginner. Heck, I’ve been using mouth calls for almost 30 years, and some of their higher quality stuff is difficult for me - to get the sound I prefer.

I’ll second Houndstooth. Everything I’ve bought from them is easy to use right out the pack.

Can I get one in sour apple flavor?....

I like Houndstooth calls, they are way eaiser to run than most of the woodhaven calls I have tried.

Play with whatever calls you have now, and pay attention to what portion of the call you present your air on. Then pick a cut that matches up with that. Example. I call off the right side of the reeds. So, I use a batwing or a combo cut. If you call down the center, you need a ghost cut or v. Off the left a batwing or reverse combo. And so on.

I partial to houndstooth, but there are many good mouth calls out there. A well made call is night and day different from one of these pos you find at Walmart.

When I started on a mouth call, I couldn’t even resemble a turkey. Get with Yekrut. Tell him what you want and he will make you some. Great guy and great calls
