If Florida and Alabama would just get together on the reciprocity on license it would be good for everybody. Years ago you could buy a Flordia out of state license for $50. With all those fees it will cost about $160 or more to deer hunt separate days down there now just not worth it no more than I get to hunt. The Chotawhatchee WMA would probably draw some Alabama hunters if they would reduce all the fees.

Always worn out at this point. The 10 Days in feb actually seemed worth it this year in regards to rut activity. Next year I may hunt the opener and then stay out until mid Jan.

I was pretty wore out this year. Finally had success in January. I just bought a small property and hope to get a connecting lease. I'm already excited about the chance to actually plant plots and trim trees, create bedding ect. Also since I'm more obsessed with turkey hunting and the Warden has told me to limit my weekends to one season or the other. My plan is to hunt opening weekend of bow, openeing weekend of gun and last 3 weeks in the season next year. That way the land doesn't get over pressured, we might recruit some bucks from the public land nearby, and I won't be burned out by going on weeends when I probably won't do much good anyways. But come turkey season already told her to not plan anything that requires me.

Glad it's over, gonna take a couple weeks off, then start getting the turkey vest ready!!! I deer hunt to pass the time until turkey season!!!! But have enjoyed it this year killed a 9 point, and doe, and have enough meat to last us a while, glad to be a part of this web site as well, we need to plan one year to have an Aldeer.com party where we can ALL get together, make it a weekend long party!!!

I pulled all my cameras to put back out for turkey season tomorrow. Got a few stands to pull down, and conception studies to do. Not to mention 10 acres of cleared food plots to stump out and lime

Only the second season of my hunting life I didn’t kill a deer. Of course, I didn’t hunt a single time after our house burned December 15. It is also the only season Will has not killed a deer since he started hunting.

Now that it's over I can start putting up new fences while its still cool enoigh to keep yellow jackwts and ticks at bay at my place we bought and get the landscape trimmed and some fruit trees and mucadine and grape vines trimmed. Time I get this done grass mowing season starts and as a side gig it keeps my weekends busy till hunting season when I get done doing leaves

I have mixed feelings. It's my first season hunting but I didn't get to start until December. Not sure how many days I went but I know it's about 15 to 20 and many of those were full days. Ran into one doe randomly one day while looking for a place to hang my climber but couldn't get in a position to shoot before she blew at me and ran off. Dry fired at a pig another day (oops). Didn't see any bucks all season except on camera. Didn't see any does other than that one. I even went out today and sat through the downpour.

Bottom line I guess is I learned some stuff, I know I tried my best, and even though I'm disappointed about having zero successful hunts at least I got to spend a bunch of time outdoors. Hopefully next year I'll have better luck with the deer. In the meantime I'm glad to get back to fishing for a while.

We pulled our tree stands out yesterday and will store them today before cleaning guns to put away in the safe. I joined a second club this past season and will spend the next few weeks before turkey season scouting to get a good feel for how the land looks before the woods green up. My son and I didn't put a buck on the wall but our season was successful. To see him grow into a more patient and complete hunter was the highlight of my year.

End of January was plenty long enough.

It's too long now in my opinion.

This was the hardest season I can remember. Not because the deer were scarce. We had a high number of deer and I killed plenty of deer. Id see 7 or 8 a day in the summer. It was the pure sorry actions of other "hunters" this was the worst year I have ever seen for poachers and thieves. If something doesn't change Im done with it Ill shoot a deer when I want one during season on my land . But as far as hunting and paying for licence and donations to the state of Alabama and spending my money (more than some not as much as alot of yall) on land to hunt or wasting time and tree stands. Ill give another state the money that actually cares about the sportsman... Im not going to be the one shot in the back in my stand. And Everyone hide and watch. Next year More hunters in this state are going to be Murdered by outlaws. Untill a collar is put on the dogs doing this and other trash see there is punishments. Right now South west Alabama is as bad as the wild west. Alot dont see it because they are in office's all week but I live in the woods, its gotten out right dangerous.
Heck I had trouble yesterday all day. Trucks on county grade letting one hound go off the hard road. All the same crap get to my ground blind I hunt in the rain and its frickin gone... Im over it..

First season with a child. I'm absolutely wore out.

kinda bummed its over but i always get kind of burned out towards the end.I will be rippin and rearin come october though..Looking forward to improving a few places got some really thick places i wanna get in and cut some lanes before it gets to dang hot.

I call BS on the 10 extra days on the north end. Somebody somewhere is making money off of it I'm sure. Stupid IMHO. .02

No doubt...The number of jacked up F250s with 15000 dollars worth of wheels and tires with a trailer carrying 30000 dollars worth of ATVs UTVs with out of state tags increased ten fold here in Barbour county the last few weeks.

IMHO the season is to long

Let several bucks walk that other people killed -- smdh. Grandsons are teenagers now and losing interest, so I didn't hunt very much compared to previous seasons.

Thats how you do it. I've had way more success and spent a whole lot less time and money with usually better success.
