pretty fast. I used to practice those skills when I was an LEO. Action is faster than reaction.

That wastes a lot of ammo.
If you're inside my arm reach, I'll take your gun faster than I can reach mine.

Seen it both ways Mark. I "killed" and FBI instructor once in a training class by just pulling my gun back to me and "shot" his azz.

I agree thet most of the time I can take it away, depends on the situation.

I’ve gotten pretty dang good at taking someone’s gun away from them if they’re where I can reach it. If you’re close there’s a better chance of me killing you with your gun than mine.

Who in there right mind would let someone get close enough to take their firearm? That's cardinal rule #1. I had an instructor to create a scenario where a guy was 20' away and had his hand behind his back threatening violence. The instructor was trying to talk to the guy as he advanced and I raised my hand and asked why he didn't have his handgun out and ready, his reply was he'd have to go to court and I said that's better than the cemetery. Everyone laughed. He didn't like me too much after that. Point being you never let anyone one get close enough to grab at any weapon of your if it can be helped.

Kinda what I was thinking. Once you been shot and shot at by a bunch of derlick meth heads you start to think just like that. Id prefer a cort room over a wheelchair or grave yard... But thats just me I still feel like seeing a few grandkids grow up first..

ya'll watch videos of 7-11 robberys those idiots ALWAYS stick the gun in the clerks face, maybe 12" or less close. Folks that don't understand handgun retention usually get too close.

That is great. This is the range most robberies will happen. No one comes for your wallet or car at 20 feet. My only problem is his head shots. One you put several rounds in someone the head is not still going to be so upright. Of course no target is gonna fall over.

Exactly. I have no intentions of allowing a threatening individual to get close enough for me to grab their firearm. Real world scenarios don’t always go text book. If some jackleg pulls a gun on me or anyone else and I’m close enough to reach it, unless he’s highly trained, there’s a better chance of me taking possession of that gun that him using it. Not sounding like I’m some bad dude. Just saying that training can help you be prepared for a lot. .

I agree nothing hardly ever goes as practiced. I'm not afraid of any man either but I'm also not afraid to back up and keep my distance if I can smile

Those dudes are quick with a pistol and before anyone says "they only shoot competition it ain't real" I'd rather compete in training than bleed on the street.
