Vortex makes some nice range finding binoculars in that price range if I'm no mistaken

The problem with rangefinder binoculars is that the electronics always go bad after about 5 or so years. The warranty typically do not cover the electronics after this time so you are left with expensive binoculars. Mark's outdoors had a used set of Leica rangefinder binos last year with a price that was too good to be true. The manager told me "they're past due" after asking him what's wrong with them. He then explained the issues.

Buy some good quality binos and spend about $400 on a Vortex rangefinder. I bought a Vortex earlier this year after my 5 year old Leopold rangefinder stopped ranging past 200 yards.

I have a Sig rangefinder. First one I got had issues, and they replaced no questions. Happy with function, and can't argue with the warranty.

Single unit might be more convenient, but I would argue for separate. Buy the best binoculars you can afford.

I use my Leica rangefinder as a 7x monocular. Its around my neck every time I go to the woods. The optics are as good as a Leupold VX-3. A rangefinder is not a time to go cheap, I had a Leupold that was useless once it even thought about getting dark out.

This might be a stupid question, but have y'all ever considered using a golf rangefinder? There are some that zoom and you can get a good one for about 3-4hundred. Leupold, Nikon. There are some that come with a slope feature for calculating elevation changes. Just curious. Might be a good plan B.

I have a Kilo 1250, and I have ranged deer at 450 yards. Might work further, I just haven't tried.

I have ranged trees as reference out to 1000 yards

I think 1180 is the longest I've ranged a deer with it.
