I am just curious as to who out there hunts Freedom Hills? I am fairly new to hunting the WMA at Freedom Hills as I have learned the rut there is usually going on right about now. This allows me to get in a 3rd rut for my hunting season as we currently lease and maintain a property in Illinois for an early rut, We also own property in Wayne county Tennessee we currently implement conservation practices on that we have had great success on and catch another rut around the first week of December. I look forward to learning more about the Freedom Hills land and I feel I have already learned some of the areas down there last year and this year while hunting with a good friend and have been seeing several young 2/3 year old rack bucks, however the constant killing of young, 2 and 3 year old bucks is pretty alarming I would think...

Have had decent success there. Only started predator hunting last year. Have called in a few yotes and a gray fox at FH. Have also been busted a few times too unfortunately. But it is still a lot of fun. Lots of territory to hunt

There’s some good bucks there killed every year that are in the 4-5 year age range. Oh no doubt I have seen a few the past few years guys have taken there that are definitely good mature bucks.Would be even more of them killed if they could make it past that 2.5 and 3.5 year old mark though... I completely understand that for some people the WMA is all they have and if they see a deer they take it. I also have no issue with the fact if a individual sees a deer that makes him excited and get the good ole shakes then that kill was worth every second. Just the people who kill to be killing is what I cant understand.
