I can remember as far back as when I was a kid very occasionally I would get a ringing in my ears. It would come on and then go away usually in just a couple of minutes. It might be years before it would happen again. If I remember correctly it would usually just be one ear but that might not be correct.

Starting maybe a couple of weeks ago it's both ears all the time and slowly getting louder.

Anybody have this and what can be done?

I have it from TMJ issues. I'm so used to it that I usually only notice it if it's extremely quiet and there's no outside noise around me.

My ears ring 24/7 and have for as long as I can remember. As far as making it go away; good luck.

Unfortunately, there is no cure. Is typically associated with a hearing loss. I have had to learn to live with it.

take a benadryl. try it and see if it works for you. Tinnitus is usually caused by minor swelling in the ear canal due to a minor allergic reaction to something in the local environment.

I have lived with tinnitus about 30 years. Read this interesting article just today about a clinical trial that shows some promise. http://stm.sciencemag.org/content/10/422/eaal3175

Mine started about 5 years ago, 24/7. Been to the best hearing doctors in the state according to some and was told there is no cure. When it first started, I felt like I wanted to poke an ice pick in my ears to make it stop, although that wouldn't help.

My neighbor wears hearing aids and he says his stops when he has them in.

24/7 for me for past 50 years. I have much worse health issues so I just live with it.

I’ve got it from shooting too much in my teen years with no protection, and I played drums for many years before I figured out to ear protection then too. The damage has been done now. Can’t do anything about it, but to prevent future damage I wear plugs now even when driving nails with a hammer. I avoid loud music and stuff like that at all costs.

My left ear has been ringing since I was 16, I'm 44 now. There's times it gets worse, and there's times it drives me absolutely crazy, but it never goes away. I've just learned to deal with it.

My right ear rings constantly going on 10 years now. 8 track tape players & bulldozers are the likely cause. I have some hearing loss in my left too. Doc says hearing aids are not an option but I just ordered a pair of $40 walkers to try. We will see.
