Last week's snow dropped a big limb through my roof. All the way through the ceiling with water leaking in. Should I call a roofer first or get the insurance adjuster to come out first? Needs a new roof anyway so looking for suggestions on how to handle.

Always call a contractor first. They should meet you and the adjuster at your house and work out the details of your estimate. Most insurance adjusters are not qualified to build an outhouse and will leave out many items needed for the repairs.

This but have the contractor come out before you file a claim. Make sure the damage is going to meet or exceed your deductible.
