I used to drive my dads truck all over that farm. I was about 12. He dated the gal that had family in the old farmhand house. Her daughter might have caused my infatuation with well endowed redheads.

Same thing happening in Baldwin County south of I-10. You see a 40-100 go into development and then to try and maintain acreage you see little 5-20 acre spots that haven't seen crops in 30 years being cleaned up. And every ditch line and field edge is being cleaned and cut back by the farmers to get every inch they are paying for which I don't blame them.

I hate to see it happening but it was inevitable. I worked for 4 years in Huntsville and every time I drove past that land I wondered how long it would be before it was sold to developers. I have a friend who farms in Huntsville and I wonder how long it will be before some of the land he leases is gone.

Not that it makes it any better, but one man's loss is another man's gain. Hopefully lots of good paying jobs will come from it.

Welcome to my world, except we get new subdivisions and people moving to "the country" from the city and complain about spraying, equipment use, cattle smell etc etc etc...sometimes just want to throw in the towel. All we have left is pea patches

I grew up with this in S. FL. Places we quail hunted for years are nothing but asphalt and houses for miles and miles. The sad thing is, once it started it didn’t take long for it all to dissapear.
