Looking at putting a aftermarket trigger in a ruger 77 mkii. Has anyone used the rifle basix triggers? Are they reliable? What triggers would y’all recommend. Thanks.

Rifle basics is good, have a buddy who has one in a remington. I have had a timney in my ruger for almost ten years now and never had a problem.
Only accurate rifles are interesting.

I've got a 3# Rifle Basix in my RM700. I love it, smooth and no creep.

Have a smith work the factory Trigger. You can get it to 2.5lbs with no creep. This^^ If I were going to put an aftermarket trigger in it though I'd get a Timney

This^^ If I were going to put an aftermarket trigger in it though I'd get a Timney I put a timney on my M77 Hawkeye a few years ago. It's a great trigger and breaks crisp at @ 2 lbs. But I would not recommend doing this job yourself. It was a lot of work and I had to grind on the trigger lever and grind a LOT on the safety cylinder to make it fit. If you grind a couple thousandths too much on the safety cylinder, it's toast and you will have to send it to Ruger for replacement. I was very careful and took my time and it works great. If I bought another Ruger, I would take it to a gunsmith like Gundoc and let him fine tune it.

M77 triggers are tricky. I would not recommend modifications to the factory trigger. I had one with the top tang safety, that would fire when I moved the safety to OFF position. I took it to Sammy Strough in Montgomery and we discovered it had been filed. Sammy ordered a new factory trigger group for it, and solved the problem.
