I'm a big ground hunter and prefer it to tree stands in hilly terrain. I have always used regular folding lawn chairs. They are lightweight, very comfortable, easy to carry in with their sling bags, and have arm rests. But it seems like everyone is obsessed with these tree seats. What am I missing by not having one? They look less comfortable, heavier, more bulky, and way more expensive. Someone explain the advantage to me.

Other than being quieter when moving around, I cannot see an advantage of a tree seat over a lawn chair.

I would say they're a lot lighter than a folding chair and they handle my 300 lb arse a lot better than the standard folding chair.

You can put them on steep terrain since they strap to a tree instead being on the ground. That being said I've owned both the milineum and the summit, lighter than a tree stand but still suck if your toting one very far. Went back to just sitting on a pad. Somebody wants a summit, they can have mine if they come get it. That's my opinion of them

Look in the ground hunting thread. Lots of praise for the hammock seat. Never had one but have one ordered. I think being able to strap to a tree instead of a chair on slopes is the biggest advantage. Plus size of chair to carry in

Yea the only advantage I see is not having to find level spots for the lawn chair when on a slope. That is the hardest part for me with the lawn chair but I always seem to find a spot where it works.

Get you a turkey lounger. Beats the heck out of all of them for rifle hunting on the ground

The Millennium is lighter, more comfy than a bag chair.
All this talk, Im fixing to get mine out and hunt from it.

I've killed a few deer out of a bag chair. I've switched to the millennium tree seat because you don't sink so deep into it like a bag chair. I find it easier to maneuver in the tree seat. There's advantages and disadvantages to both. If you hunt a road with a tree seat you have to find the perfect tree to see down the road. If you've got a chair, just plop it down wherever.

If you ain't got a turkey lounger($29.99 at cabela's or basspro) then you don't know what your missing out on. You can sit all day and you don't have to rely on a tree being where you want to sit.

Love my millennium tree seat. I added a piece of foam tube to the bottom rail and a set of back pack straps. Now it's a premium tree seat!

Turkey lounger and a Primos Stake-Out blind most of the time for me.

Hammock seat is the lightest, most compact and comfortable of those. I've been hunting with one for a few years and only thing I got against it is the material is very cold when temps drop, ya need a chill pad between you and it on cold days.

I like the bag chair. It's easy to transport and lightweight, very comfortable, and sits up higher than the turkey lounger(which is a big plus for me).
