Same here. I have my Daniel Boone w/ wifi setup and it has been a game changer in my BBQ world. Love being able to come up with a smoking profile, load it in the GMG ap on my phone and let the grill do the work.

Bark, not char. Char is burned, bark is slowly caramelized skin and sugars.

I have had a couple electric smokers over the years, while they work good they suck the power big time, I have used propane smokers and like them but my next smoker will be a pellet smoker...

Another BGE owner here. One time purchase as it comes with a lifetime warranty.

BGE. It's worth the extra money for the warranty, just had my bands/spring replaced for free. I've run mine for at 225 for 17 hours on a single load of charcoal.

Steve, a pellet smoker uses power - how much, I don't know, but they require power ... I've heard they produce really good results ...

I know they use power for the auger and I guess the burner but I would be surprised if they use as much as a electric smoker, the last one I had used around $5-$8 for an 8 hour smoke, I know this isn't really that much but if you use it often it adds up..

Ya, I suspect it'll be significantly less than that ... What model are you looking at? A guy I follow uses the Camp Chef Woodwind & man, his stuff looks awesome

That guy Steven Rinella used a Traeger on one of his episodes on some mule deer meat; I think they carry Traeger's at WM ...
