Seen a Terex cleaning the TVA ROW doing some serious clearing, really cool but expensive machine. I'd love to run one in a few places, the operator said you have to stay on your toes.

I also seen them spend a few days clearing the head, they'd caught a vine or something that und up in it. They had a mess. One mentioned rolling up barb wire and how bad that was.

I can't believe Pcamper doesn't at least have one Bama sticker on that thing. I was expecting a crimson and white machine with the top/and cage in houndstooth or weaved straw with a crimson ribbon around it. The mulcher attachment would have "The Sabanator" across the front. And a bumper sticker on the back that says avoid pat poison and tin horns.

I can vouch for Gobblers machine also. Cam put about 45hrs on it then Rod put 10-15hrs on it at our place over the last few years and it will eat some chit up! I wish I personally had one like Pcamper's to tinker with.

Jon was the phone several times yesterday. A couple of times I heard him say "Nick" and didn't think much about it. But later I heard him say, "I'll talk to you later Nick, we'll get together and work on that wing back formation".
So yall Bama fans might wanna get to know Pcamper a litter better. I think the ol boy got Saban's ear a little tighter than most!

I am evidently picture posting incompetent.
Since photobucket began their policy of extortion I have been unable to find a new pic host friendly to my Android OS. Compounding the problem is my extremely, painfully slow internet connection complements of Hughes net. Did I mention Hughes net SUCKS?
So, if someone would like to post these mulching pics I'll be happy to email or text them. But I am not able to accomplish the task on my own.

It was instant pasture, the mulch-dirt mixture left behind held the top soil in place & it greened up in just a few days.

The bigger machines definitely have their place. They are made for clearing very large tracks. The skid steer is more maneuverable and can get into places the bigger machines cant. This machine is perfect for shooting lanes, clearing green fields, clearing around farms, clearing house spots, ex. While we were at Outbacks, one of his neighbors wants an area of pines thinned. A larger machine couldnt do that, So the skid steer mulchers have their place as well, not to mention cheaper to operate than the large machines.

I could have some fun tearing some stuff up on that machine........until I hit a Yellow Jacket nest. I don't imagine there is a quick escape on that monster.

For those trying to imagine it, think very large skidder with giant teeth on the front. A very large skidder. Shoot, I could have fun on the little Bobcat ones I imagine.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

It depends on your setup, but you are pretty much spot on...

The $90-120k would be my guess. Machine is around $65k and probably $30k for the head but that's just me guessing.

A new set up like we have would run a little over $100k. The Kubota SVL-95 is around $75k alone, Depending on the brand of mulcher, they start at about $28k and go to about $32k. This doesnt account a tow vehicle and trailer, A good tow trailer like a 20ton big Tex is around $10k, a decent tow vehicle can spend whatever you want. These units are very expensive to operate, the teeth on these machines run about $2,500-3,000. This is why they cost so much per hour. We charge $125 per hour with a 4 hour minimum , that is the cheapest Ive seen for Forestry Mulching. Ive seen it as high as $200 per hour for set ups like ours. Ive also seen people charge a delivery fee and 8 hour minimum.

$125 an hr, why sell yourself short?
