This hunt is completely free and all about the kids! This is a dog club and they will be running the dogs. It is a fantastic hunt for your kids! Plenty of food, drinks and comradery for everyone!

They have several disabled children coming this year also, so don't let your disabled child miss out, they will make it a fantastic experience for him/her!

That's a Great Cause!
I volunteered for a day at one of these kind of hunts
and the fun those kids had was priceless.

You are correct! It is priceless! I took my twins until they were too old, now I am volunteering. I love the see the kids happy and also, ones that have never hunted before get a fantastic 1st experience that they will never forget.

Just spoke to Mr. McDonald on the phone about it. Truly sounds like a great thing to be a part of. Thanks for posting and I look forward to meeting a fellow aldeer member there!

Dang that would be awesome, no dog hunting(deer) in my county anymore but enjoyed it when I was young would be awesome for my daughter to get to experience it.

Anyone know how the hunt works/details?

They will all gather at 6am. Game Wardens will be there and talk with the kids about safety and having fun. They will hand out youth hunting licenses and go over the pledge on it. All will sign in. Everyone that will be hunting or on stand will be checked for legal orange. The club has different sections they run. They will put them out around the area going to be run by the dogs. Any kid that does not have an adult or an adult that does not have hunting skills, they will get a volunteer to help while on stand for safety, looking for deer, keeping track on the radio etc. Probably get 2 runs in the morning, lunch, then usually 2 runs in the afternoon. It will be a great time! When you leave, you will have to sign out. They will make sure everyone is accounted for.

I'd imagine this is a pretty safe hunt?

We will burn that bridge when we get there
