Last night leaving work(Auburn Mall) my girlfriend was pulled over by a fake cop here in Auburn.

Guy approached her car in a police/security uniform and said, "Do you know why I pulled you over?" She said "No sir" to which he replied "GIVE ME YOUR MONEY!."
She told him she didn't have any cash and gave him an old worn out debit card to an account with $5 in it.

She wasn't harmed but was really shaken up.
He didn't present a weapon, but held his hand at his 3 O'clock either on a pistol or imitating the stance of an officer.

It was a white/light color Dodge Charger with a push bumper, blue LEDs in the sun visor area and the guy was 6"ish slender white guy mid to late 20's.

Auburn PD has done a really nice job handling this thus far.
They want this Dickhead in their custody and are working the case with a great sense of urgency.
I hope he tries this on an actual police officer and he catches a bullet to the face

That's terrible, man....glad that she wasn't harmed. Hopefully they'll catch him sooner than later. That's just wrong in every way.

Dang, that's a scary situation there. Makes me think about what I would do in that scenario and do I have the right to just blow his brains out at that point?

Obviously though, he's targeting females and not big ugly men like me.

This will get an all out effort by the PD. We've dealt with these nuts before. And people wonder why it is illegal to have a vehicle equipped with blue lights in Alabama....here's your answer.

Ya it's an awful position to imagine yourself in, she handled herself really well.

Morgan did what any logical person would do when stopped, acknowledge the stop, slow down, try to stop in a well-lit area.

She's out with the detective this morning retracing the bread crumbs of leaving work, where he turned on the lights, she stopped etc

I can only hope that he is caught and this individual doesn't escalate.

Always dial 911 when you are being pulled over after dark. Or ever
Especially a female by herself.
They will let you know if the stop is legitimate.
If not, they will guide you to a secure stopping point where an actual policeman will be there to assist you.

The crazy thing is that each state can have rather different lighting laws/enforcement of the laws.

I have friends in Texas that said it is common for non LEO to have blue lights on just regular work trucks.

THIS.......if it's an unmarked car or you can't see the markings on the car, call 'em. If it's legit, the officer will know why you didn't stop immediately. No harm, no foul.

Is this the same guy that pulled a female over in Opelika over by the old Uniroyal plant?

Thanks for posting this. I had heard someone had been robbed at gunpoint at the mall a few weeks ago getting in or out of their car.

No certain yet if it is the same person but they're trying to figure it out.

Only because I read this in a similar situation that I am even aware of it but the fact he never said he was a cop makes a difference. Can't remember what it was but that guy had lights and a gun but the charges against him were lessor because he never said he was a cop. That what the article said anyway. You can bet the criminals know the laws and how to use them.

this is why i will never pull over for an unmarked car unless I am in a public location. They will just have to get me for running from the cops.

That's not running from them. Acknowledge them and they will understand what is going on. If it will be a distance before getting to a public place, call 911 and let them know what you are doing. No LEO worth his salt will have a problem with that and if he does a judge certainly won't, esp. for a female.
